15 Best Hentai Movies and Anime of All Time

15 Best Hentai Movies and Anime of All Time

To most anime fans, the term “hentai” is a well-known one, whether they have actually seen a hentai movie or anime series, or have just heard the word. Still, as it is with many Japanese terms, the term “hentai” has somewhat different meanings in Japanese and in English.

In Japan, the term “hentai” is a kanji compound of 変 (hen; “change”, “weird”, or “strange”) and 態 (tai; “appearance” or “condition”). It also means “perversion” or “abnormality”, especially when used as an adjective. It is the shortened form of the phrase hentai seiyoku (変態性欲) which means “sexual perversion”. The character hen is a catch-all for queerness as a peculiarity—it does not carry an explicit sexual reference. Usage of the term hentai does not define a genre in Japan.

On the other hand, The Oxford Dictionary Online defines it as “a subgenre of the Japanese genres of manga and anime, characterized by overtly sexualized characters and sexually explicit images and plots.” The origin of the word in English is unknown, but AnimeNation’s John Oppliger points to the early 1990s, when a Dirty Pair erotic doujinshi (self-published work) titled H-Bomb was released, and when many websites sold access to images culled from Japanese erotic visual novels and games. The earliest English use of the term traces back to the rec.arts.anime boards; with a 1990 post concerning Happosai of Ranma ½ and the first discussion of the meaning in 1991.

Now that you know what hentai means and what it represents, we can finally get to the main topic of our article and that is a list of the 15 best hentai anime and movies you need to watch. This is going to be somewhat of an R-rated article, so we do advise minors to avoid this article because of its sexual content, although we are not going to put any explicit imagery on here. Enjoy!

Discipline

Based On: video game
Created By: ActiveSoft
Released: April 11, 2003 – December 17, 2004
Episodes: 6 (OVA)

Additional Material: Discipline Zero, 2-episode prequel OVA (January 29, 2010 – June 25, 2010)

Synopsis

The story revolves around Takurō Hayami, a student transferred to the St. Arcadia school (Saint Arcadia), where the majority of staff and students are female. Takurō has a strange “sexual power” that consists of a kind of second erection when he is already having intercourse with a girl, which ultimately leaves him in a weakened state.

The explanation is, of course, never provided, but probably has to do with the cervix, although later it is revealed that this “power” can be activated at any time, regardless of whether Takurō is having intercourse with a girl or not, as long as he is stimulated. In addition to that, he also has the strange ability to produce liters of semen and with great force, unlike the common man.

His personality is shy, though, he is uncomfortable in his role and insecure, and it is assumed that, just as in the game, he is a virgin at the beginning of the story, ultimately losing it with Yuuki, probably the most handsome and most liberal student in the school.

Takurō lives in the school dormitory, a building managed by a girl named Saori Otokawa, with whom he lives a relationship similar to a courtship; only 5 people live in the bedroom, including Takurō and Saori; the other three are women, but it is a trio of strange girls who become their best friends – Yuuki Miyagishi, Luli Nonomiya, and Maiko Kaneda – despite their drastically different personalities.

All three have intercourse with Takurō as the story progresses. But Takurō’s stay at the school does not pass smoothly, since not only does he get involved in various erotic situations with the students and teachers of the school, but he is also in an eternal conflict with the “Social Club”, directed by the evil Leona Morimoto and with the school principal and sister of the villain, Reina Morimoto.

Euphoria

Based On: video game
Created By: CLOCKUP
Released: December 11, 2011 – February 26, 2016
Episodes: 6 (OVA)

Additional Material: None

Synopsis

Euphoria is somewhat of a classic, the people say, but it’s definitely not for those with a weak stomach, as the sexual and non-sexual atrocities that can be seen here are on another level completely. The story begins as Keisuke Takatō wakes up in a featureless white room, unaware of how and when he arrived there. While exploring the room, he notices six familiar-looking girls huddled around a large monitor. They are his childhood friend Kanae Hokari, the class president Miyakō Ando, his English teacher Natsuki Aoi, his junior Rika Makiba, and his classmates Rinne Byakuya and Nemu Manaka.

As they attempt to make sense of their current situation, a mysterious voice suddenly speaks to them via the monitor, stating: “The game will now begin.” The rules of the game seem to be simple, but are extremely brutal; Keisuke gets the role of the “unlocker” and he must select one of the girls as his “keyhole” and violate her in a specific manner, as per the rules. Only after he does this for five rounds will the group be able to attain freedom and leave their mysterious prison.

Refusing to acknowledge the frightening situation, Miyakō vehemently rejects the game and declines to participate. Suddenly, though, the entire room goes dark. When the lights come back on, Miyakō is strapped to an electric chair. The mysterious voice speaks to them once again, stating that “Withdrawal from the game will result in death”; moments later, the chair electrocutes Miyakō to death to the shock of the others present.

Left with no other option, the terrified captives accept the rules, and thus begins the sadistic game that will awaken their carnal desires through pain—and pleasure. In our opinion, the pleasure is debatable, but hey… to each his own.

Stringendo: Angel-tachi no Private Lesson

Based On: manga
Created By: Seto Yuuki
Released: January 27, 2006 – April 27, 2012
Episodes: 12 (OVA)

Additional Material: Stringendo+Accelerando Ultimatum Sera, 3-episode sequel OVA (May 23, 2008 – October 31, 2008)

Synopsis

The concept of Stringendo is based on the fact objectively average guys get to sleep with their school’s hottest girls. These girls are quite the thing, actually. They are experienced, constantly aroused and extremely aggressive in their approach. When they want to sleep with someone, they do it without hesitation.

In this aspect, Stringendo was a sort of refreshment in the industry, which is why it became a classic among fans. The fact is that men are usually the predators in the hentai genre, so a radically different approach, like the one presented in Stringendo, explains why the series had so many fans.

The animation quality differs greatly between episodes; the first ones in the chronology boasting obviously larger budgets than later installments, but that’s not really something you’ll notice while watching. However, what doesn’t drop in quality is how well the erotic scenes are established and delivered. The intercourse is mostly vanilla and always one-on-one.

The most interesting aspects, according to fans, are how believable the characters are, the interactions they have, and their unbridled love for sex. There’s a lot of basic things during both fellatio and intercourse scenes. The scenes themselves are usually quite raw and messy, but an issue with the series doesn’t really do much in the educational sense, as it doesn’t really promote safe intercourse among teenagers, which is a big minus and a lesson to all who actually watch the series to actually practice sexual activities safely and not recklessly.

Accelerando: Datenshi-tachi no Sasayaki

Based On: manga
Created By: Seto Yuuki
Released: January 27, 2006 – February 26, 2010
Episodes: 4 (OVA)

Additional Material: Stringendo+Accelerando Ultimatum Sera, 3-episode sequel OVA (May 23, 2008 – October 31, 2008)

Synopsis

Unlike Stringendo, Accelerando never really received the same amount of acclaim, but due to it being a “pairing” of the former, we had to include it on our list. It was written by the same artist and both series actually debuted on the same day, although Accelerando had a much shorter run than Stringendo and was usually described as weird, confusing, or messy (and we mean this in the most non-sexual way possible!).

The main story is focused on the first episode, which features four characters: a waitress, the boy she likes and who also likes her, a perverted man, and his perverted female friend. Tamaki and Ohashi secretly like each other but have trouble expressing their love because they’re both very stereotypical timid anime characters, often present in non-hentai works as well. And while they do get the most screen time, their stories are somewhat bland and predictable.

The two adults, which are seemingly more interesting and layered (as much as a character can be in a hentai OVA), are responsible for molesting the two youngsters and forcing them to have intercourse, which is also somewhat of a stereotype as far as hentai is concerned. Episode 1 seemed to be the best story-wise, although it didn’t really set a high standard there.

As for the rest, episodes 2, 3 and 4 don’t really have a consistent, linear plot. Instead, each of them is composed of two different stories: one related to the main plot (or at least containing characters from the first episode) and the other with a completely new story and characters, usually a backstory for an already-known character. As people generally say, these unconnected, singular stories (particularly the last one) were far more interesting than the main plot of the series.

The parts of episodes 3 and 4 that show the main plot seemed like mere fillers and there is nothing interesting about them besides the intercourse shown in them. The original stories still seem far more interesting, but all in all, Accelerando remains an incoherent mess that didn’t really portray anything and people are unsure whether it actually wanted to portray anything.

Accelerando is good for those who prefer actual erotic content over a story, so if you’re in that group, you might find it interesting, but if you’re actually looking for a story to go with all the scenes, Accelerando is probably not for you.

Bible Black

Based On: video game
Created By: ActiveSoft
Released: July 25, 2001 – June 25, 2003
Episodes: 6 (OVA)

Additional Material: Bible Black: Origins, 2-episode prequel OVA series (May 25, 2002 – August 25, 2002); Bible Black: New Testament, 6-episode sequel OVA series (April 25, 2004 – December 25, 2007); Bible Black: Only, 3-episode OVA side series accompanying the original anime (July 25, 2005 – April 25, 2006)

Synopsis

Like Discipline, Bible Black is probably the best-known hentai series to non-fans and it has a reputation. It combines the supernatural and bizarre with everyday situations, providing for something better suited for those with a strange(r) sexual appetite, as there is really little to no “classical” material in here.

An academy student, Taki Minase, finds a strange book, the Bible Black, which, he finds, contains instructions for dark magic, which is actually a form of Kabbalistic satanism. Using the book’s magic, Minase is able to make Rika Shiraki fall in love with him, as well as help his friend, Ayumi Murai, get the boy she loves to love her back. Reika Kitami, the school nurse, hears of his magical acts and decides to sway him to her since she needs the book for herself.

Twelve years prior, Kitami was used as a sacrifice and only survived after making a deal with Satan, becoming a hermaphrodite in the process. Kitami now needs a virgin girl to act as a vessel as the life that Satan has given her is running out. Kaori Saeki, the head of the new Witchcraft Club, also persuades him to come to one of her meetings with the book.

After Imari is abducted by Kitami, the lesser demon leaves Minase and he realizes that he loves Imari and must save her. With the help of Takashiro and the Bible Black, he finds a spell Takashiro believes will stop Kitami’s evil scheme. By this point, it is Walpurgis Night once again, and Kitami plans to reincarnate herself into Imari. Kitami slits her wrists and has intercourse with Imari, but Minase interrupts it and casts his spell on Kitami. This apparently causes the ritual to fail, and Kitami dies from blood loss.

Afterwards, Minase and Imari confess their love for each other and have intercourse. Sometime later, Saeki is planning to steal the Bible Black. Imari enters the room and destroys the Bible Black with a fire spell, then reveals herself as a hermaphrodite, showing that Kitami’s ritual was successful. The series ends with Imari deciding to test her new body out by raping Saeki again.

Koiito Kinenbi The Animation

Based On: manga
Created By: TakayaKi
Released: December 21, 2012 – March 22, 2013
Episodes: 2 (OVA)

Additional Material: None

Synopsis

There are three different stories during the course of the two episodes of Koiito Kinenbi. The main one is a romantic story between the protagonist and his landlord, Kanako. They both have feelings for each other and get together. In the first episode, Kanako’s mother (who barely looks older than Kanako) goes with the couple to a hot springs resort. Both she and Kanako have sex with him since Kanako is wasted. In the second episode, Kanako’s younger sister, Anna (who looks to be about 14) comes to visit. There’s also one other scene with the protagonist and Kanako at the end, but that would actually be a slight spoiler if you really care at all about the plot.

The next story which only gets one scene in the first episode is between two students in a drama club at their high school. This was quite a good scene in the end, which is why it is rather sad that we didn’t see more of it.

The final story gets two scenes in the second episode. A girl named Aisha who is Santa’s daughter is just finishing up delivering presents. At the last house, she trips on the snow on the porch and gets knocked out when she hits her head. The perverted boy living there finds her, thinks that she is his Christmas present, and proceeds to first grope her breasts and then fuck her. She wakes up while he is inside of her much to her surprise. It actually turns out that she was supposed to be the guy’s Christmas present and become his girlfriend. The second scene of this is my favorite scene. Aisha’s younger sister, Sasha, comes to visit and tells Aisha that their mother wants her to give her some grandchildren. If she doesn’t want to, Sasha can do it instead.

The plot actually consisted of several separate stories about lesbian romance (yuri), each with both a romantic and sexual element. Set in St. Michael’s Academy (Mikajyo), the games follow these yuri relationships and romance between various girls that attend the school. While most of the games focus just on a single couple, some of the newer titles feature multiple couples, which is a result of the series developing further.

However, when Mai questions Reo on whether or not she hates her, Reo ends up confessing instead. Confused and surprised, Mai begins to wonder if she feels the same. Pretty x Cation, as well as its sequel, is one of the more highly regarded hentai series. Fans have generally praised the adaptation as being both accurate and authentic. It’s not just the sexual content, but also a lot of romance and truly great dialogue – well, great for a hentai series, that is – which is why this adaptation feels truly realistic compared to some others. Plus, the animation is really great and the erotic content feels very authentic as well.

Aki Sora

Based On: manga
Created By: Masahiro Itosugi
Released: December 18, 2009
Episodes: 1 (OVA)

Additional Material: Aki Sora ~Yume no Naka~, 2-episode sequel OVA series (July 30, 2010 – November 17, 2010)

Synopsis

Despite the incestuous subject and the relatively vanilla animation (there aren’t, really, any explicit scenes), Aki Sora is a truly beautiful and heartbreaking love story, although a lot of the love is actually forbidden (and even illegal). It might not be as weird as some other titles on this list (this is mostly romance, really), for those who find the topic of incest a strong taboo, Aki Sora is definitely something you should avoid. The topic explains why the original manga was withdrawn from print, as it was labeled as being inappropriate for Japanese youth.

As for the plot, well… ever since he was a young child, Sora Aoi had always exchanged words of “I love you” with his attractive older sister Aki, not realizing the implications these words would have on his later life. Now, as he comes of age, he finds it much harder to exchange such comforts as they did in those simpler times.

When Aki demonstrates her feelings toward him to go beyond a sister’s love, Sora finds himself questioning his feelings for his sister. Realizing their affection for one another, they consummate their love in secret. In a society that would never understand, they must now keep their love a secret from their family and everyone they know.

However, Sora soon finds himself exploring many forms of love with different kinds of women he met that are not accepted by society thus questioning his feelings for his sister. The sequel OVA also involves a love triangle and unrequited love.

G-Taste

G-Taste

Based On: manga
Created By: Hiroki Yagami
Released: December 18, 1999 – April 24, 2003
Episodes: 7 (OVA)

Additional Material: G-Best, one-episode OVA (November 22, 2010)

Synopsis

It is a very unique work in Japanese anime since its creator, Hiroki Yagami, places great emphasis on the design of his characters, which resulted in some of his characters becoming true cult figures of Japanese anime. G-Taste stories consist mainly of four erotic scenes and another set of complementary scenes, which usually revolve around a certain character. Another characteristic is that there is little to no male participation in sexual acts, which gives it a unique atmosphere.

The story is usually not very graphic, abiding by Japanese legal restrictions on not showing the genital areas. Some of the actions shown in her scenes include masturbation, sadomasochism, lesbian relations, etc.; as in most Japanese comics, the characters have rather improbable proportions. The visuals of the series focus and heavily feature motifs of long legs, heels and short skirts, something that is constantly and consistently used through the episodes; however G-Taste can be qualified in terms of its drawing quality since in its scenes, they show a delicate and fine relationship with anatomy and movement which makes it something unique in the genre of Japanese animation.

Moe, Nana, Mai, Sayaka, Misuzu, Asuka and Yuna are the most handsome girls in the professions, but they have a common problem with each other, they cannot get enough intercourse and be satisfied. They will do everything possible to achieve their erotic dreams and wishes. The characters of G-Taste generally represent some of the usual stock characters featured in hentai and Japanese erotic art, such as the schoolgirl, the office worker, the secretary, in addition to the nurse, the waitress, the receptionist, the maid, the doctor, the teacher, and the wife.

This hentai series is very good for women, as it contains a dose of sensuality that is more appropriate for women, but there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Resort Boin

Based On: visual novel
Created By: Studio Eromatic
Released: December 25, 2007 – April 25, 2009
Episodes: 3 (OVA)

Additional Material: None

Synopsis

Daisuke Ichijō goes on vacation to his grandmother’s beach resort. As he arrives, he admires the beautiful beach and even more beautiful ladies on it. Soon, he decides to start having fun “his own way.” He encounters many girls who will make this vacation unforgettable, including his old friends, the playful Nao Ihara and the wealthy Mitsugu Tsukushino, who proceed to compete over him. Daisuke also meets his cousin, Maya Koromogae, and her clumsy friend, Momona Amamiya. There are also Shinjō Kanae and Mika as well, who also happen to “get involved” with Daisuke throughout his vacation.

These six girls will be responsible for making Daisuke’s vacation intense, fun, and unforgettable. As they put Daisuke in many complicated situations, he finds that they often lead to passionate erotic activities. Alongside being a hentai series, Resort Boin is also fun of humor and eventful scenes, so you can also enjoy somewhat of a story among all the erotic content. The characters have some individuality, although most of them are stock characters. The animation is also on a relatively high level, which makes Resort Boin all the more enjoyable.

Harem Time The Animation

Based On: manga
Created By: Shun Saeki
Released: October 26, 2012 – January 25, 2013
Episodes: 2 (OVA)

Additional Material: None

Synopsis

Satou Reiji’s life changed when his real lineage was discovered. He is the son of a rich man who passed away recently, and now Reiji is the new master of the Kamiyama house. But there is a catch! In order for him to be accepted into the house legally, he needs to provide an heir, and in order to do that, he must choose a wife from his very own harem! Harem Time The Animation is, as the name suggests, an example of the harem subgenre, where one male character is surrounded by a large(r) group of female characters.

We picked Harem Time to give our list a bit of diversity and since it’s based on a manga, that is usually some guarantee of quality. Harem Time embodies everything the harem subgenre should have and it also contains a somewhat interesting (sub)plot related to family intrigues, lineages and heritage. It also has some important romantic elements, so it’s going to satisfy those that don’t just want explicit content. It’s not the best story-driven hentai out there, but it is certainly watchable, which is why it found its way on this list.

And that’s it for today. We hope you had fun reading this and that we helped solve this dilemma for you. See you next time and don’t forget to follow us!

Enjoy!

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi

Based On: visual novel
Created By: Fuguriya
Released: July 30, 2010
Episodes: 1 (OVA)

Additional Material: None

Synopsis

Sono Hanabira was a very successful yuri visual novel series released between 2006 and 2016.

The main series consists of 16 stories, but the series also contains several spin-off series. The Angels series has three individual episodes, while the New Generations series contains only two. There are also two separate spin-off titles that do not belong to any specific spin-off grouping.

Mai Sawaguchi and Reo Kawamura seem far from friends. Despite Mai constantly trying to get along with Reo, they always end up fighting. However, when Mai questions Reo on whether or not she hates her, Reo ends up confessing instead. Confused and surprised, Mai begins to wonder if she feels the same. After school, she meets Reo again, prepared to give an answer. Agreeing that their feelings are mutual, the two girls begin to use each other to fulfill their sexual desires.

Go and find your love or you will regret it later.” With just that little push, you feel a little confident that it’s your time to fall in love. Yes, your love will begin to bloom now…
