‘Absolute Batman’ Provides the Dark Knight with Another Deadly Batmobile
One of Batman’s most famous gadgets is the Batmobile. Over the years, this car has transformed into a multi-purpose machine, handling everything from transportation to combat. Each new version seems wilder than the last, and now, Absolute Batman #4 by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, and Gabriel Hernandez Walta takes things to a whole new level.
Before we dive into the Batmobile, the issue explores Bruce Wayne’s early days as Gotham’s protector. It reveals a proto-Batman who used a gun and even had fangs with a paralytic bite. As his methods evolved, so did his tools. And that’s where we meet the smallest Batmobile yet.
This new Batmobile is a tiny, radio-controlled car. It’s described as just ‘a bottle jack, an RC Roadster with a 4600KV motor, some black paint—all for under a grand.’ But don’t be fooled by its size.
Despite its modest appearance, this little machine packs a serious punch. Batman uses it to stop a truckload of weapons and drugs, proving that even in this alternate universe, he’s as resourceful as ever.
But that’s not all. Absolute Batman #4 also introduces the Bat-Thumb, a new grappling device. This tool, strapped to Bruce’s hand and wrist, activates with a simple hand movement.
It extends and hooks onto surfaces, making it easier for Batman to climb or anchor himself. Though it looks odd, the Bat-Thumb seems practical and might have other uses down the line.
These inventive tools show us that Batman’s genius is his real superpower. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with next in this thrilling series. Absolute Batman #4 is available now.
