Apple TV has had a string of successes with its television series recently, and 2022’s hit Severance is one of the most talked-about series from the platform’s library. The sci-fi series became an absolute hit, earning numerous awards and nominations. Of course, a second season of the series was ordered quickly, and we can happily confirm that the second season will premiere later this year; an exact date has not been revealed, but a release window is also fine at this point. The series is going to continue from the enigmatic ending of the first season, explaining what is going to happen to the main characters after the shocking truths and revelations from Season 1.

In light of that, we can confirm that Apple has released some initial materials from the season on social media, so we can confirm that we have a first-look photo, as well as a first-look teaser trailer. The teaser is short, as a teaser should be, but it indicates a very shocking turn of events for the main character, Mark Scout.

We know that you’re most interested in the teaser, so allow us to present it to you before we dive into the known details about Season 2 of the series. Here it is:

As you can see, the eerie, mystery-filled atmosphere of the first season is going to reach a new level in Season 2. And while we’ve only seen Mark – of the main “resistance” characters – in the teaser, we can assume that the other protagonists of the series are also going to experience similar moments in the season.

The series stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, Zach Cherry as Dylan George, Britt Lower as Helly Riggs, Tramell Tillman as Seth Milchick, Jen Tullock as Devon Scout-Hale, Dichen Lachman as Ms. Casey, Michael Chernus as Ricken Hale, John Turturro as Irving Bailiff, Christopher Walken as Burt Goodman, and Patricia Arquette as Harmony Cobel. The series was created by Dan Erickson, with Aoife McArdle and Ben Stiller working on the first season as directors.

The official synopsis for the series reveals the following details: “Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. They begin a journey to discover the truth about their jobs.”

The series tackles concepts of free will, memory, conspiracies, and many others, and as someone who’s seen the first season, yours truly can indeed confirm that Severance is a must-see show and we cannot wait for the second season to premiere. Be sure to keep following us, as we are going to bring you all the updates!
