A24 is bringing Eddington, Ari Aster’s latest thriller, to the European Film Market in Berlin this month. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and Austin Butler, along with Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr. It’s currently in post-production.

The story follows a couple stranded in a small New Mexico town during the COVID-19 pandemic. At first, the locals seem welcoming, but as night falls, things take a dark turn. Phoenix plays the town’s sheriff, a man with big ambitions.

There’s talk that Eddington might premiere at Cannes, which would be a first for Aster. A24 is aiming for a summer release.

The film was written and directed by Aster, who also produced it with Lars Knudsen under their Square Peg banner. Acclaimed cinematographer Darius Khondji handled the visuals.

This marks the sixth collaboration between Aster’s Square Peg and A24. The two have worked together on Hereditary, Midsommar, Beau Is Afraid, and Dream Scenario, along with upcoming films like Death of a Unicorn, The Drama, and Primetime.
