‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ Is Still Going Strong in 2025
Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to captivate us well into 2025. Just six days into the new year, the game reached a peak of over 120,000 players.
This marks a 10% increase from December when it reentered Steam’s top ten best-performing games. Currently, it’s outperforming titles like Call of Duty, Helldivers 2, and Elden Ring.
Larian Studios shared in November that Baldur’s Gate 3 was attracting more daily active users in 2024 than in 2023, the year it exited early access.
The game’s popularity is expected to grow further with an upcoming major update this year, introducing cross-play and photo mode.
In December, Baldur’s Gate 3 climbed back into Steam’s top charts and maintained a strong position since. As of now, it ranks 19th among top sellers, with around 49,000 players online on a Monday morning.
Impressively, the 24-hour peak player count on Steam surpasses that of Call of Duty, which recently released Black Ops 6. It’s also ahead of popular games like Helldivers 2 and Elden Ring.
Currently, Baldur’s Gate 3 holds the 14th spot among games, just behind Stardew Valley and Wallpaper Engine. To break into the top ten, it would need an additional 80,000 players to overtake titles like Palworld and GTA 5.
The game’s enduring appeal is evident as it continues to expand its player base well into its third year. With planned updates on the horizon, its popularity shows no signs of waning.
