Larian Studios, the developer behind ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’, experienced a remarkable financial turnaround in 2023. After reporting a modest revenue of €22.7 million in 2022, the company saw its earnings soar to €427 million in 2023, largely due to the game’s success. This surge led to a pre-tax profit of €249 million, a significant leap from the previous year’s €214,000 loss.

While Larian hasn’t disclosed exact sales figures, Publishing Director Michael Douse mentioned in February that the game had sold well over 10 million copies.

Additionally, Hasbro, the parent company of Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast, reported in March that ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ had earned it $90 million through its licensing deal with Larian.

The game’s success has not only boosted Larian’s financial standing but also solidified its reputation in the gaming industry. The company is now poised for future projects, building on the momentum gained from ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’.

In summary, Larian Studios’ financial performance in 2023 highlights the significant impact of ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ on the company’s growth and the broader gaming landscape.
