Bella Thorne Shares Her Desire to Play Lady Deadpool: “I Love Action Stuff”

Bella Thorne as Lady Deadpool

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is one of the most exciting upcoming projects. It’s the only MCU movie set to be released in 2024, and people who have seen parts of it believe it will save the MCU and restore fans’ faith in the franchise.

As with any highly anticipated project, there are lots of rumors about potential cameos, different versions of characters, and other elements of the movie. Some, like Garner’s Elektra, have been confirmed, while others are still just speculation, though more evidence is supporting them.

Yesterday, a new teaser for the movie was released for Best Friends Day. Besides featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, the teaser seems to show a female version of Deadpool, known as Lady Deadpool, a character rumored to appear since the movie was announced.

There has been a lot of speculation about who might play Lady Deadpool, with most guesses being Taylor Swift or Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively. However, we may have forgotten that Bella Thorne once expressed a desire to play her.

In an interview with ComicBookMovie, Bella said Lady Deadpool is her dream role and that she loves superhero movies and related media. When asked if she’d like to play the character, Thorne said she would definitely be up for the challenge:

Yes, superheroes are definitely fun. I love action stuff, naturally, and I do a lot of action stuff with stunts and whatnot. t’s just always really fun on set and it breaks up the work day when you get to concentrate on the body and feel and how to perform not just using your voice. That’s always really fun for me. Deadpool is my favourite. It’s so raunchy and, hello, who doesn’t love Ryan Reynolds? He just f***ing nails that role to the floor.

Thorne also mentioned how much she appreciates the realism in superhero movies:

What I love about Deadpool is that realism mixed with the, you know, superhero world. It’s something where we feel we can talk to this superhero now in today’s day while still having them be a superhero. I love that shit. Like, The Boys? Love that TV show.

What’s your opinion? Do you think Thorne would suit the role of Lady Deadpool? Share your thoughts in the comments!
