High Water (Wielka Woda, 2022 – )

This Polish drama is set in the 1990s in the capital of Lower Silesia where there is news about a flood wave approaching it. There is a big decision that has to be made about saving the city from destructive elements.

It is a difficult decision that includes the sacrifice of the surrounding villages and fields. This show depicts the flood that hit Wroclaw and its vicinity in 1997.

The Girls at the Back (Las de la ultima fila, 2022)

This acclaimed Spanish tv mini-series tells the story of five women in their 30s who get together for their annual getaway. They have been friends since high school and never miss these encounters. But this year nothing is as it used to be since one of them has been diagnosed with cancer. 

Even though this show has several humorous moments, it is actually a very serious and detailed view of what happens when friends and families are faced with a terrible situation. It is a story about friendship and love and all the challenges life puts in front of us.

Fleabag (2016 – 2019)

Sissy Spacek and J.K.Simmons play leading roles in this tv-show, portraying Franklin and Irene York, a couple with a huge secret they swore to keep between them. A few years ago they discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which leads to a new strange and deserted planet, without any answers or explanations. 

They have been able to keep their secrets successfully, but everything changes when an enigmatic young man enters their life and they realize that the mysterious chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be something completely different.

Devs (2020)

This Alex Garland’s sci-fi mystery drama centres on a computer engineer who investigates the secret development division in her company. She is convinced that they are responsible for the disappearance of her boyfriend and is determined to learn the truth, no matter what.

Lily is a software engineer for a quantum computing comedy Amaya, she is good at her job and satisfied with it but her life will change completely when her boyfriend dies on his first day of work at his new job at Devs.

The Undoing (2020)

David E.Kelley directed this intriguing tv mini-series with a stellar cast, including Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in leading roles, a brilliant guest role by Donald Sutherland, and an excellent performance by young Noah Jupe. It is an interesting drama that shows what can happen to a family when secrets become revealed. 

Grace Fraser is living the life of her dreams. She is a successful therapist with a wealthy husband and a talented son. But one night will turn her life upside down and force her to start questioning not only her husband but herself as well. He is missing and is the one suspected of murder, but is there something more behind everything, and is Grace also hiding something?

Outer Range( 2022 – )

Josh Brolin and Imogen Potts star in this western mystery drama full of secrets and suspense. Brolin plays Royal Abbott, a rancher who will do everything to fight for his land and family. But while doing it, he will discover an unbelievable mystery at the edge of the Wyoming wilderness. 

Even though they would do anything for each other, the Abbotts are portrayed as a family who doesn’t know how to communicate and is constantly trying to find words and explanations for their deeds and decisions. 

Kleo (2022 – )

This superb German tv-show is an action crime drama thriller set in the time period after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Kleo is a former spy killer who is set free and finally embarks on a revenge spree against everyone who has plotted against her and has tried to conspire to betray her.

This is a very clever show, with a great story and brilliant writing, and not only a tale of revenge but also a criticism of the political system and corrupted characters. 

The Outsider (2020)

This is a gripping tale about a case that will make a fuss in a small town. When a local English teacher, Little league coach, husband, and father of two little girls becomes the first suspect in a murder of an 11-year-old boy found in a town park.

Terry Maitland has an alibi but he is soon arrested and needs to wait for his story to get accepted since the evidence doesn’t go in his favor. When strange things begin to happen and the possibility of a supernatural force is involved, it becomes obvious that Maitland might not be guilty.
