The Fans Have Ranked the 10 Best Superhero Shows Since 2019 – Here’s the List!
Ranker is a popular place on the Internet where people can rank whatever they want, however, they want, and whenever they want. This is always a fan-focused ranking system, and it is never officially tied to the people behind the projects in question. Recently, a large survey was organized on Ranker, whose goal was to determine the best superhero TV shows since 2019.
The list includes a total of 39 shows, but in our report, we have decided to list the top ten best series from the site to provide you with better insight, combined with our original comments and opinions, which will add flavor to the whole report.
Of course, since this is indeed an important list, we have decided to report on it, so we are going to bring you the results by listing the top 10 best shows on this list, from 10th to first place, with the first one being the absolute best. We hope you’ll enjoy it!
10. Watchmen
We are kicking off this list with HBO’s controversial miniseries based on Alan Moore’s epic comic book series. Watchmen was something new and refreshing, and while it was a mostly original take on the original comic book, it retained a lot of elements from the original story.
The series had a great cast, and it was well-written, but a lot of the fans complained about its political nature. Nevertheless, it is probably the most original take on this whole list.
9. Gen V
The first – and hopefully not last – spin-off of The Boys, Gen V managed to prove that the people behind Amazon’s hit series have a lot of creative ideas that they can work on, and we’re quite happy about that.
Gen V shifted the perspective of the original series to a new generation, showing a different set of issues within the same universe. And that is why it managed to succeed because it felt so authentic.
8. Moon Knight
Moon Knight was a surprisingly crazy and interesting take from the MCU, a series that doesn’t quite fit into what we’re used to from the MCU but is nevertheless an amazing show.
Oscar Isaac’s performances were absolutely stunning, and the fans loved the show because of how well it managed to push the limits of the MCU. It could have been even bolder, but we can agree that it deserves to be on this list. Definitely.
7. The Umbrella Academy
And while you might argue that the ending was executed poorly, the general outline of The Umbrella Academy was great. It was something new and something intriguing, a show that managed to bring something new and provocative to the screen, which is why the fans loved it so much.
The characters were quirky, the performances excellent, and the writing was – for the most part – great, so we can understand why the series is on this list.
6. Hawkeye
Knowing how underused Hawkeye was in the MCU, this series wasn’t promising before it premiered, but it turned out to be one of the MCU’s best shows.
The fans loved the characters, and the story, and Hawkeye finally got a chance to shine, despite it not being in a main Avengers film or a solo movie. Hawkeye was truly great and it absolutely deserves to be on this list.
5. Loki
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is one of the most popular MCU characters, so when it was announced that he would be getting a solo series, the fans – naturally – loved it. And the series delivered.
The second season wasn’t as great, but the first season was absolutely perfect, providing additional depth and emotional value for Hiddleston’s antihero, making him one of the most beloved MCU characters. This series was a sure one for this list, without a shadow of a doubt.
4. WandaVision
MCU’s television story began with WandaVision, a show that turned out to be surprisingly great and a show that influenced the future in many ways.
It paved the way for Doctor Strange 2, introduced us to Agatha, and provided us with a great and emotionally engaging story involving Wanda, which showed us just how great Elizabeth Olsen is as an actress but also how deeply rooted Wanda’s pain is and how much injustice had befallen her character in the MCU. The portrayal of loss was absolutely stunning, and that is why everyone loves this show.
3. Peacemaker
Aside from John Cena’s charisma, the probable reason why Peacemaker became so popular is because the show was always itself. It never pretended to be something else, and this approach – “it’s a fun show to make people laugh and enjoy themselves” – is probably what the fans love so much about it. It was an absolute hit for the DCU and we can fully understand why it is here on this list.
2. The Boys
Is there something to be said about The Boys that hasn’t been said until now? The show is a masterful political satire whose social and political messages hit hard and deep.
Eric Kripke and his team have been doing an excellent job, and The Boys have pushed the limits of television so many times that we can only continue praising them. The series is currently in production in its fifth and final season.
1. Superman & Lois
Despite never becoming a proper mainstream hit, Superman & Lois is a much-beloved series, and the fans are sad it is over.
Despite numerous setbacks, the series managed to beat the odds and become one of the most popular superhero outings in recent years, with the fans definitely wanting more Superman & Lois content. It had a great cast and a well-executed story and we are really not surprised that the fans have ranked it like this.
