Big Mom vs. Ulti: Who Would Win in a Fight?

Big Mom vs Ulti: Who Would Win in a Fight?

It is known that Big Mom is probably the strongest female character from One Piece of all time. The former Emperor of the Sea was amazingly strong and there were only a few that could actually match her powers and abilities in the whole franchise. On the other hand, Ulti of the Beasts Pirates is also one of the strongest female characters in One Piece. Big Mom and Ulti have fought in the series and in this article, we are going to tell you who won and who the stronger character is.

Big Mom is much stronger than Ulti; despite Ulti being a powerful opponent, she is not even near Big Mom’s level in that aspect, as was witnessed during their brief clash in Wano Country. During the fight, Big Mom used her special Homies—Napoleon, Prometheus, and Hera—to fire a powerful, concentrated beam of fire and lightning that struck Ulti, who ended up losing her consciousness.

The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to compare Big Mom and Ulti in more detail. Through several categories, you are going to see who the stronger of the two is and why our answer is like it is, i.e., why Big Mom would, according to our analysis, be able to defeat Ulti in a fight.

Physical powers

Linlin possesses immense physical strength, demonstrated by her ability to climb tall buildings, deliver powerful punches sufficient to destroy a building, and shatter the ground with his feet. She is also able to throw her minions with great force using only one arm. When she is hungry she produces abnormal amounts of saliva which seems to be much more corrosive than a normal person.

She managed to break down the metal door to her castle’s treasure room, which even her daughter Smoothie, a Sweet Commander, couldn’t get through, just by walking into it. Big Mom possesses enormous resistance thanks to her extremely hard skin, compared by Capone Bege to an iron balloon. She is able to destroy cities, sink ships, and withstand cannons and gunfire without being harmed.

It is said that no weapon can pierce his skin. However, she loses her tenacity when she goes into a psychological breakdown, such as when someone dropped the photo of Mother Caramel that she is enjoying.

Ulti possesses great physical strength, her fighting style is based on hitting his opponents with her head, and with her great strength and durability she is able to unleash blows so powerful that her crewmates compare them to a cannon blast, and they believed that she had almost certainly cracked Luffy’s skull when she confronted him. She was able to physically outmaneuver Luffy, an immensely powerful and accomplished pirate, in a headbutt clash, though he ultimately did not take much damage.

Ulti was able to knock Tama unconscious and bleeding, though transformed into her beast-human form. She doesn’t seem to be very fast, as she was overwhelmed when Luffy rushed in at high speed and was unable to do anything against Yamato’s raimei hakke. Despite that she managed to recover quickly, she was also able to withstand Nami’s various attacks, receiving a lightning bolt and a tornado at a short distance, and both times she was able to get up without much difficulty showing to have great resistance. Despite having great resistance, Ulti has a certain limit because she fell unconscious due to an attack from Big Mom using her homies.

While Ulti is extremely powerful and physically imposing, even in her human form, she is no match for Big Mom and her amazing strength. This point clearly goes to the Empress.

Devil Fruit

Linlin is the wielder of Soru Soru no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to manipulate the souls of human beings to the user’s wish. She can remove the soul of her victims by catching it in substance form, reduce their lifespan, and absorb it into herself; if she chooses a sufficient number, she kills the victim.

The latter can introduce a soul into an object to make it alive or into an animal to make it human. The user can also split their own soul into fragments that live as incarnations of the fruit eater. They call themselves the Homies and they cannot oppose Big Mom. Her Fruit is similar to the Kage Kage no Mi, however, she cannot put her souls into corpses or a human. She can also create incarnations of her soul who have the task of collecting the souls of the inhabitants.

Ulti consumed the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pachycephalosaurus, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows its user to transform into Pachycephalosaurus. Due to this fruit and her fighting style, Ulti can perform devastating headbutts. With this fruit, his already enormous physical strength is further increased, to the point where he can quickly grab Luffy and immobilize him even though the pirate is immensely strong.

The front of his skull is also greatly improved, likely greatly increasing the power of his headbutts, though just how powerful they are is yet to be seen. Ulti’s subordinates consider her transformation to be overkill against most opponents, and she only uses it against opponents she takes seriously.

Ulti’s Devil Fruit gives her amazing physical powers, but as was witnessed during their battle, it’s not of much use against Big Mom’s Devil Fruit, which is why the Empress wins this point as well.

Haki

Linlin is one of the few characters capable of using all three types of Haki. Linlin is capable of using Kenbunshoku Haki, but its level of use is unknown. Linlin can make use of Busoshoku Haki, showing immense mastery over it. By stiffening his arm, he was able to easily block Luffy’s Gear Fourth Gomu Gomu no Kong Gun, something that Doflamingo, a very proficient Busoshoku Haki user, had no chance to defend against. Like Luffy’s Gear Fourth, Big Mom’s Busoshoku Haki has flame patterns on its ends.

Charlotte Linlin is capable of using Haoshoku Haki, a skill that only one in a million people is capable of using. The first time she was seen using this ability was to knock out a man who questioned her about her relationship with Mother Carmel. Later, after the destruction of Carmel’s portrait, Big Mom unleashed a large wave of Haki accompanied by her thunderous shriek; knocking out numerous guests at her party. Linlin can also use the advanced form of Haoshoku Haki, seen infusing her fist with it to attack Page One.

Ulti can use two of the three types of haki. Ulti can use Kenbunshoku Haki, sensing the great threat that Luffy is and at the same time still being able to detect his presence in the face of his subordinates’ claim that he had killed him. Ulti can use Busoshoku Haki, hardening her head to collide with Luffy. Her Haki is so hard that he was able to knock Luffy down and hurt him even though Luffy also attacked with his hardened head.

This is a mere question of numbers, as you might have deduced. Namely, Big Mom wins the points here because she knows more types of Haki than Ulti, which is why she wins this point as well.

Weapons

Big Mom can wield the retractable blade of her Napoleon bicorne as a sword in battle. Using it in combination with his monstrous strength allows him to unleash powerful shockwaves that can cause massive destruction.

No one has yet proven able to withstand Napoleon’s powerful strikes, as even Jinbe has been overwhelmed by the blade despite putting up his best defense. Napoleon can also be caught in the flames of Prometheus to increase his attack power. During her altercation with Kaido, she was able to part the sky following the clash suffered between Napoleon and Kaido’s kanabo.

Ulti wields a club with sharp spikes, which she used to take on Yamato’s kanabo. This is the only known weapon she wields and we know that she is quite proficient with it.

Ultimately, Ulti’s weapon cannot match Big Mom’s power or skills in this category. This final category goes to Big Mom as well, and with it, we conclude the points section.

Big Mom vs. Ulti: Who wins?

Before we conclude the article, we are going to tell you how the brief skirmish between these two characters evolved in the manga.

During the Wano Country Arc, Ulti arrived on the second floor of the castle just in time to witness Empress Big Mom deliver a powerful punch to Page One, enraging Ulti and shocking her subordinates. Ulti started running towards Big Mom in anger, with Nami unsuccessfully trying to goad Ulti and Big Mom into a fight.

Ulti, seeing that Nami and Usopp were trying to escape, changed into his beast-human form and jumped towards Komachiyo, where both pirates were traveling. She then used her ul-zugan to violently headbutt the komainu, seriously injuring it and knocking it out. When Tama cried for Ulti to stop hurting her pet, Ulti slapped the girl, angering both Big Mom and Nami, who blasted Tobiroppo with a powerful lightning bolt.

Despite receiving the attack, Ulti stood up in front of Nami telling her that he finally decided to face her, after which Nami attacked her again with a tornado, however, Ulti managed to dodge it using her Kenbunshoku Haki just before the impact. He then grabbed Nami ready for her to crush her head but, at the last second, Big Mom hit her with a combo attack from her homies. After receiving the empress’s attack, Ulti fell to the ground out of action.

This short skirmish illustrates what we have concluded in our point-by-point analysis, namely, that Big Mom is much stronger than Ulti. Ulti wasn’t able to do any damage to Big Mom during the fight and the ease with which Big Mom knocked her out illustrates just how much stronger she actually is.
