Big ‘Pokémon’ 2025 Plans Might Have Slipped Out Through ‘Pokémon Go’
A recent update to ‘Pokémon Go’ has sparked excitement among us. The game now includes text mentioning ‘Pokémon Presents 2025 x GO Tour: Unova Timed Research’. This suggests a ‘Pokémon Presents’ event might be coming soon.
For the past four years, ‘Pokémon Presents’ events have been held every February to celebrate Pokémon Day. This day marks the anniversary of the original Pokémon games released in Japan on February 27, 1996. The new text in ‘Pokémon Go’ hints that this tradition will continue in 2025.
The mention of Unova in the update is particularly interesting. Unova is the region from the fifth generation of Pokémon games. Some of us think this could mean a remake of these games is on the way. However, it might simply relate to current Unova-themed activities in ‘Pokémon Go’.
Adding to the Unova focus, a new Unova-themed Pokémon Trading Card Game set is planned for this year. This aligns with the game’s ongoing Unova events.
In February 2024, ‘Pokémon Legends Z-A’ was announced during a ‘Pokémon Presents’ event. This game is set to release in 2025 and is the second in the ‘Pokémon Legends’ series, following ‘Pokémon Legends: Arceus’. In ‘Pokémon Legends Z-A’, we’ll return to the Kalos region and explore Lumiose City.
While the ‘Pokémon Go’ update doesn’t confirm specific details, it hints at exciting news for us in the near future. The combination of the ‘Pokémon Presents’ reference and the Unova mention suggests that February 2025 could bring significant announcements.
As we await official word from The Pokémon Company, the clues from ‘Pokémon Go’ give us plenty to discuss. Whether it’s a new game, a remake, or special events, the future looks bright for Pokémon enthusiasts.
