Will Black Noir Appear in ‘Gen V’? Actor Nathan Mitchell Is Teasing a Possible Crossover
It should go without saying that The Boys is one of the most well-liked superhero shows in the world. With each successive season, Eric Kripke’s vision for the television program managed to propel Garth Ennis’ dark and twisted take on the superhero genre to new heights, making it one of the most-watched television shows ever.
We’ve chosen to go back and remember the incredible fourth season of the show, which concluded recently, as we get ready for its insane final season. As you recall, we hadn’t discussed Black Noir all that much previously, but this season he was really important because of his fascinating resurrection and a lot of other changes to the character.
Not that long ago, we reported on the franchise releasing an in-universe audition tape of Nathan Mitchell, the actor playing Black Noir, auditioning for the role of the “new” Black Noir, during that video, the character revealed an interesting detail that might hint at something in the future.
In case you haven’t seen it, as part of the promotion of the fourth season, The Boys released the audition tape for the “new” Black Noir, which shows actor Nathan Mitchell as an unnamed character auditioning to become the “new” Black Noir in a very funny meta moment. Here is the tape:

In the video, as you can see, the unnamed character speaks (and so does the new Black Noir) and he reveals that he is an alumn of God U, which is an abbreviation for Godolkin University, the “superhero university” that is the main setting of Gen V, the first spin-off series in the franchise.
Later, after the release of the video, the actor gave an interview for TV Insider, in which he was asked, based on what is said in the video, whether Black Noir could make a cameo in Gen V, and here is what Mitchell said:
In your character’s audition tape, he mentions being a God U alum. Any hope to pop up in Gen V? Or does your character not get any time off from The Seven?
It’s definitely possible. We’ll have to wait and see. I think now that he’s unmasked, there are a bunch of possibilities and a lot of different avenues we can explore with Noir and the other characters in the show and in the universe. So yeah, I’d love to see that too.
