'Blue Miburo' Anime Reveals New Visual and Cast Information

The anime adaptation of Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s Blue Miburo is heating up with major updates. The team behind the show just announced five new voice actors for the second part of the series, set to debut in episode 17 on February 8. A brand-new visual was also revealed, teasing an intense battle ahead.

Joining the cast are Ryōhei Kimura as Yaksha, Yoshiki Nakajima as Sendō, Yoku Shioya as Ryōken, Masashi Yamane as Hanabishi, and Daisuke Hirakawa as Anegakōji Kintomo. Their character names are still awaiting official Romanization.

The second half of the anime kicked off on January 11, after the first part wrapped up on January 4. The series premiered on October 19 and continues to air every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Japan (3:30 a.m. EST) on YTV, NTV, and affiliated channels. It’s set for a two-part run, and Crunchyroll is streaming it as it airs.

For the second part, Umeda Cypher performs the new opening song ‘OOKAMI,’ produced by banvox. The story still follows Nio, played by Shūichirō Umeda, with Yōhei Azakami voicing Hijikata Toshizō and Kenshō Ono as Okita Sōji.

Other returning cast members include Chiaki Kobayashi as Saitō Hajime, Shun Horie as Tanaka Tarō, Ryōta Takeuchi as Serizawa Kamo, Tomokazu Sugita as Kondō Isami, and Megumi Ogata as Kikuchiyo.

Additional voices introduced earlier for this arc include Mamoru Miyano as Kyōhachi Yōtarō, Chika Anzai as Nagi, Rie Takahashi as Sakura, Kujira as Hebi, and more. The anime is directed by Kumiko Habara and animated by Maho Film.

Kenta Ihara is in charge of the script, while Yūko Ōba and Miyako Nishida handle character design. The music is composed by Yuki Hayashi, with Toshiki Kameyama as the sound director.

The original manga, titled The Blue Wolves of Mibu in English, is licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing. It follows Nio, an orphan who dreams of changing the world.

He soon finds himself in the early days of the Shinsengumi, a group of fierce warriors fighting for justice and their own ideals. The manga launched in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2021, with its 14th volume released in July.
