Captain America: New World Order – What It Could Be About (& Comics It Could Follow)
At this time of the year, it is easy to think about new Marvel projects that could get released anytime in the future because of the fact that we are in the middle of Comic Con 2022. But while we do have some new Marvel shows announced, the good news is that we don’t have to wait long for Marvel Studios to announce their other projects due to some leaks regarding trademarks filed in the European Union Intellectual Property Office. One such project we are looking at is Captain America: New World Order. So, what could Captain America: New World Order be about?
It is possible that Captain America: New World Order will allow us to see Sam Wilson adapting to his new title during a time when the world probably isn’t ready to accept a Black man as Captain America. Nevertheless, it could also be possible that this will reveal the New World Order group.
We all know that Sam Wilson is now the new Captain America after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But the thing about this is that we didn’t know if he is ever going to star in a solo Captain America film or if he is simply going to be there in collaboration movies. Nevertheless, New World Order could be a clue to Sam’s future as that we are going to discuss here.
Will There Be Another Captain America Movie?
After the end of Avengers: Endgame, people were speculating whether or not there would be another Captain America movie in the future because of the fact that Steve Rogers essentially retired from the job after going back in time to enjoy his years with Peggy Carter. Of course, Thor was the first of the original MCU Big Three to get a fourth movie, and we know that Tony Stark won’t get his due to his sacrifice in Endgame.
We did see at the end of Endgame that Steve gave his shield down to Sam Wilson, who used to be called the Falcon, as he was essentially passing the torch to him so that he could serve as the new Captain America. However, during the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam was reluctant to carry on the title of Captain America because he felt that it was such a huge responsibility that he was not worthy enough to take on. On top of that, there was also the issue of race because he also felt that the world wasn’t ready to accept a Black Captain America.
Then again, at the end of the series, Sam Wilson finally took hold of the shield while also declaring that he was the new Captain America as the man once called the Falcon was now ready to handle the large responsibility of representing America as a superhero. And the ending scene of the series allowed us to see how the title of the series was changed from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to “Captain America and the Winter Soldier.”
While we do know that Sam Wilson is now the MCU’s new Captain America and is ready to take on the title of the character along with the responsibilities that come with it, people are wondering if we would ever get a new Captain America movie. Yes, the Captain America legacy lives on in Sam, but the question was whether or not the character is big and popular enough to warrant a solo Captain America movie or if Sam Wilson will only appear in collaborations with other heroes or in a Disney+ series.
Of course, these questions coincide with the fact that we are in the middle of the Sand Diego Comic Con 2022, and that means that Marvel Studios is going to be introducing new additions to its upcoming slate. While we did see certain animated projects like Spider-Man: Freshman Year and What If…? season 2 getting announced, there are still those who are wondering about the next movies in Phase Four in the future. Captain America is one of the titles that people are wondering about. So, will there be another Captain America movie?
The good news for Marvel and Captain America fans out there is that there is a good possibility that a fourth Captain America movie is in the works and could be released in the future. This is thanks to a leak about the title of the movies that were filed in the European Union Intellectual Property Office. One of the movies included in that leak was a Captain America title.
Considering that Sam Wilson is now the new Captain America, the possibility is that the new movie will focus on his character in a solo story that would allow us to see what the former Falcon could do as a lead character in his own film. And fans of both the Captain America title and of Sam Wilson will be delighted to see that this movie is a possibility, thanks to that leak.
Nevertheless, nothing has been made official by Marvel Studios as there is no announcement from the company. In that regard, these are all speculative in nature as the leaks are not entirely a hundred percent accurate in terms of whether or not the movies are really in the MCU’s slate. But the good news is that there is a good possibility that a fourth Captain America movie is in the works.
What Is The Title Of The Next Captain America Movie?
According to the leaks from the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the title of the new Captain America movie is Captain America: New World Order. Now, we all know that New World Order was the title of the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but the title was in reference to the fact that the movie explored what certain people were doing in relation to the aftermath of the blip when people suddenly came back to reality after being space dust for five years.
With that said, we don’t know why the same title was carried over to the next Captain America movie, but there is a possibility that this title could be linked to the plot of the next Captain America film, whatever it might be.
What Will New World Order Be About?
At this point, the rumors are still just rumors because nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios. But there is still a good chance that these leaks are accurate and that the next Captain America movie will be entitled Captain America: New World Order. But what will New World Order be about?
It is difficult to speculate what Captain America: New World Order could be all about because nothing has been released by Marvel. Then again, it is possible that Sam Wilson will now be adjusting to an entirely new world that probably isn’t ready to accept a Black man as Captain America. That was something that was briefly discussed in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but was never fully explored.
However, we also believe that the title is in reference to a group of supervillains in the comic books. The New World Order is a group composed of Red Skull, Juggernaut, Mentallo, Piecemeal, Silvermane, Madman, and Absorbing Man. Out of all of those names, Red Skull and Juggernaut are the only ones that are prominent. However, Juggernaut has not been introduced in the MCU, considering that he is part of the X-Men storyline, which is yet to be made canon in the MCU.
As such, out of all of those names, Red Skull is the only one that could be making an appearance unless the X-Men and Juggernaut get introduced sometime between now and the release of Captain America: New World Order. Of course, Marvel Studios is free to change the members of the New World Order, considering that this has been done before in other Marvel groups and teams.
But the problem here is that the New World Order was never just a Captain America enemy group but was a team that the Avengers had to deal with. As such, it might be possible that Sam Wilson will be teaming up with other superheroes to take on this group, considering that superhero collaborations are now becoming more prominent in Phase Four due to the abundance of heroes that have been introduced in the MCU.
All that said, these are all speculative on our part because of the fact that nothing has been made official. We know nothing about what Captain America: New World Order could be because it hasn’t been announced yet. But the movie introducing the New World Order could be a possibility, especially if Marvel Studios wants a supervillain group that could be a threat to the Avengers in the future.
