Carrie-Anne Moss Joins Netflix’s ‘FUBAR’ as Schwarzenegger’s Former Flair and Current Rival
Although reactions to the series have been mixed, FUBAR has been renewed for a second season on Netflix, as the streaming service obviously sees some potential in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action comedy series. Now, we know that Arnie will be back for the second season, as well as many familiar faces from Season 1, but we have just received news that a Hollywood legend is joining the second season of the series as one of its female leads. The actress in question is Carrie-Anne Moss, best known for her work in The Matrix franchise, and it seems that she will be another new challenge for Arnie’s character.
The second season of FUBAR is currently being worked on, but Netflix hasn’t confirmed a release date for the season. The first season of the series consists of a total of eight episodes.
As for Moss’ entry into the world of FUBAR, we can confirm that she will play a character named Greta Nelson, who is a former East German operative with a rich and passionate past with Arnie’s not-quite-retired CIA spy Luke Brunner. From what we could infer, the two of them had a very passionate relationship during the Cold War, but are today considered to be rivals; still, the teaser info we have implies that the fire between them is still somewhat active, so we expect more enticing moments between them in the second season.
We don’t know how many episodes Moss will appear in or what the status of her character is going to be, but there is certainly going to be a lot of fun moments in the upcoming season. In case you don’t remember, in Season 1, Brunner was pulled out of retirement to save a fellow CIA agent, who turned out to be his own daughter.
Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro, who plays Brunner’s daughter, will both reprise their roles from the first season, as will Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Barbara Eve Harris, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley and Jay Baruchel. Aside from Moss, no additional newcomers to the season have been confirmed by Netflix.
The series is led by showrunner Nick Santora (Reacher), who is the executive producer alongside Schwarzenegger, Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Phil Abraham, Amy Pocha, Seth Cohen and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell. The plot of the series reveals the following: “When a father and daughter discover they both secretly work for the CIA, an already dicey undercover mission turns into a dysfunctional family affair.“
