Chris Evans Surprised by Rumors of Avengers Reunion in Upcoming Marvel Projects
Chris Evans, popular for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently expressed surprise over rumors suggesting a reunion of the original Avengers cast in a future Marvel project. During an appearance on “The View,” Evans addressed these speculations with a mix of amusement and bewilderment.
Evans, caught off guard by these recurring rumors, stated that such news was completely new to him. He humorously remarked on the frequency of these reports, noting that every few months there seems to be chatter about Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and other cast members reuniting. Despite the constant buzz, Evans confirmed that no one has approached him regarding this idea.
The actor’s connection to his character, Steve Rogers, is deep and personal. Evans stressed that while he is open to revisiting the role, it would have to be under the right circumstances. “It’s a very precious role to me,” he mentioned, emphasizing his protective stance over the character. For Evans, the return of Captain America would require a story that resonates with both him and the audience.
Interestingly, Evans did not entirely dismiss the possibility of donning the shield again. In April, he conceded that there might still be untold stories of Steve Rogers that could be explored. This statement has undoubtedly fueled further speculation among fans about his potential return.
Evans’ appearance on “The View” was not solely focused on his Marvel character. He also discussed his collaboration with Jinx, a pet food company, showcasing his well-known love for animals.
Despite the rumors and speculations, Chris Evans’ stance remains clear: a return as Captain America is not off the table, but it demands a compelling and fitting story. As of now, the idea of the original Avengers reassembling on the big screen remains in the realm of speculation, much to the surprise of Evans himself.
“The View,” where Evans shared these insights, airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
