The psychological thriller light novel, Classroom of the Elite, is written by Shougo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The light novel series has a manga and anime adaptation. The TV anime is handled by Lerche studios and has 12 episodes.
On February 21, the official website of Kinugasa’s Classroom of the Elite announced that the anime is getting a 2nd season. Illustrator Shunsaku Tomose drew a visual to welcome the exciting news. You can view the visual featuring the series’ protagonists below:
In addition, the news released on the official website announced that KADOKAWAanime’s YouTube Channel will hold a special program on March 6, Sunday, at 20:00 (JST) to talk about the upcoming sequel.
Classroom of the Elite takes place in a distant future Tokyo where students are reared at a young age to govern the country in the future. The students live on a remote island and “live” or rather mimic commoners’ lives. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, voiced by Shouya Chiba, is the series’ lackluster protagonist who keeps a good distance from his classmates. Kiyotaka doesn’t make an effort to show his intelligence, but he’s actually a brilliant individual.
After Kiyotaka joins forces with fellow classmates Suzune Horikita, voiced by Akari Kitou, and Kikyou Kushida, voiced by Yurika Kubo, school life doesn’t seem so dull anymore. Together the three students uncover hidden secrets in the school.
The special program on March 6th will feature Kiyotaka and Kikyou’s voice actors.
Stay tuned to the special program to learn more information about Classroom of the Elite’s 2nd season!
