All students passed the Paper Shuffle. While watching Honami Ichinose and Arisu Sakayanagi hang out, Ayanokoji’s group notices that everything about Honami is perfect, which they find unsettling; in order to defeat Class C, they decide to target Honami. A student from Class C follows Kei. Later that night, Kei informs Kiyotaka about the incident and also informs him that a student from Class A was spying on her study sessions.

The next day, many students from Class D are being provoked by Class C; Suzune notes that Ryuen is doing this to expose the mastermind and that he is not buying the idea of her being said mastermind. While returning Suzune’s book to the library, Kiyotaka spots Hiyori from Class C and the two talk about the books they like despite being in rival classes.

Afterward, Kiyotaka is taken to a reception room where he is waiting for his father, whom he has not seen in a year and a half. Mr. Ayanokoji begins by saying that his butler committed suicide after he was fired for helping Kiyotaka apply to school and escaping from his father. Kiyotaka left his family to find his way and live independently, which his father disapproved of; to take things further, he wants Kiyotaka to sign the school withdrawal form and rejoin the White Room.

Just then, Mr. Sakayanagi, the school president and Arisu’s father, intervenes saying that Kiyotaka enrolled in the school on behalf of Mr. Sakayanagi’s recommendation and that no one has the right to forcibly withdraw a student, so Mr. Ayanokoji backs off and allows Kiyotaka to stay for now. After the meeting, Kiyotaka berates Chabashira for lying to him and using him for his own reasons to get promoted to Class A.

Later that night, Kiyotaka apologizes to Kei for using her and tells him that he will stop helping him get promoted from Class D to Class A, as he will be leaving it to Suzune and Hirata, and ends the conversation by saying that this will be his last time calling her.
