The original Code Geass series debuted in 2006, followed by a sequel in 2008. Since then, the franchise has grown, with manga, OVAs, and spinoffs like the five-part Akito the Exiled, which had a limited run in theaters from 2012 to 2016.

Compilation films came out between 2017 and 2018, followed by Lelouch of the Re;surrection in 2019. Producer Taniguchi revealed at the time that this was the beginning of a 10-year plan to expand the franchise.

The anime Rozé of the Recapture premiered in 2024, both in theaters and as a 12-episode series on Disney+. A December event hinted at even more Code Geass projects coming soon.
