Dave Filoni Is Reportedly Working on a New ‘Star Wars’ Series Set in the MandoVerse

With everything going on, the future of the Star Wars franchise – while certain that it exists – is very unclear in terms of direction and success. Ever since Lucasfilm was bought by Disney, the franchise has been on a rocky path, with some projects being successful (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka), while others were less successful (The Acolyte).
And while we know that more projects are on the way, the fans are generally worried about the future of the franchise as there is no clear direction, and it looks like the franchise is just jumping from one project to another, hoping that it will succeed.
But, if there is one constant in the franchise, it is Dave Filoni, whose projects have been consistently praised and who seems to be the only person in the company who actually knows what he is doing. We know Filoni is working on some projects, but a new rumor points to there being more.
As stated, the future of the Star Wars franchise is unclear. We have written about some upcoming projects in our earlier reports, concluding that the focus has seemingly shifted to cinematic releases, instead of streaming series.
We don’t know how much The Acolyte incident influenced this, but the future of Star Wars television shows is very unclear at this point; we’re certain that there will be more, but we don’t have any proper information (save for the already announced ones) about any new projects.
Well, to be precise, we did not have any proper information until today. And while the rumor we are about to present you can hardly be interpreted as a piece of “proper information,” it comes from a reliable source and… well… just check it out for yourselves, eh?

The rumor comes from DanielRPK’s Patreon, and since we know that DanielRPK is one of the most reliable rumor mills when it comes to the entertainment industry, we can definitely consider this to be a credible rumor, although – still – take it with a grain of salt until we get something official.
As for the project in question, we don’t know what it could be. There has been talk of the MandoVerse being expanded, but we don’t have any precise details on this.
From what it seems, it is definitely not a new season of either The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett, and it doesn’t seem to be related to Ahsoka either.
As to a spin-off from the main series, we’re not sure who it could be focused on – perhaps something chronicling the exploits of Luke Skywalker (although that seems unlikely).
Or a series exploring Cobb Vanth (who was a popular character), or something focused on the bounty hunters – but if Filoni is working on the projects, we are more than certain that it will be in the spirit of the original Star Wars works.
