David Arquette, known for his role in the Scream series, is back in the slasher game with a new film, Kill Or Be Killed. He’s joined by Alisha Newton, a rising star from Heartland, in this chilling summer horror flick.

The film follows Dani (played by Newton) and her friends as they celebrate graduation. But their summer plans quickly turn dark after a gruesome murder is discovered on the high school football field.

The body is mutilated in a bizarre way, and a red envelope pinned to it holds a yearbook photo and a deadly message: ‘Kill or Be Killed’. As the bodies begin to pile up, Dani and her friends are forced into a deadly game that spreads beyond their small town and goes viral.

The movie is written by Nick Zigler, whose past credits include Chucky and Purge TV series, and directed by David Straiton, known for Narcos. The team behind the film includes producers from Other Animal Entertainment, who also worked on Poor Agnes.

Arquette, a veteran actor in the horror genre with his Scream fame, recently starred in the western The Unholy Trinity with Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson. Newton, meanwhile, is becoming more known for her roles in Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys and Heartland.

Producer Ryan Keller says the film captures the spirit of classic summer slashers while adding a fresh twist for modern audiences. The viral aspect of the killer’s game, he notes, makes it feel relevant to today’s world, while the constant fight for survival is a universal theme.

Straiton, the director, adds that summer slashers are all about the mix of freedom and fear, and he hopes this film will offer something exciting and unpredictable for fans.

The crew also includes director of photography Yaron Levy, known for Saw, and production designer Peter Bohdal, who worked on Beacon 23. The marketing is handled by Cousin Jones, who has worked on major campaigns for films like 28 Days Later, IT, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
