Are the New Social Media Photos Suggesting We’re Going to See Another Black Suit Superman Soon?

As everyone knows, one of the most formidable, adored, and legendary comic book characters ever is Superman. One of the most valuable properties of DC Comics, he has been with the fans since 1938. Throughout his career, Superman has, for the most part, upheld the heroic ideals, and his name has come to represent superheroism in general.

He has appeared on the screen on more than one occasion and in more ways than one, but each time with something new and original, something previously unseen. Superman has been a mainstay of contemporary American popular culture for a long time, and James Gunn’s next film, Superman, will add to the already vast body of work in the film industry.

And while we know most of the details regarding the movie, there is still space for rumors and it seems that David Corenswet, who is playing the Man of Steel in the upcoming movie, is teasing us himself, as some recent social media photos might imply we’ll be seeing a part of the lore that every Superman fan loves.

As you will know, the black suit is one of the most important pieces of the Superman lore in general. When it first appeared, it showed us a different Superman and the black suit carries with it a lot of weight, so much, in fact, that the fans know they should expect something great whenever it appear.

So far, we’ve only seen it once in live-action, when fans got to see the Snyder Cut, which included the black suit, and that had everyone being really, really happy. And the black suit truly delivered in that movie. It was epic, it was visually impressive and it gave another layer of quality to Cavill’s version of the character. In our book, this is definitely one of the best suits of all time, and that explains why we’re reacting each time a reference to the black suit is made. Like this one:

As you can see, it is just a regular shirt, not anything production-related, but is this just a coincidence? Or is David Corenswet actually hinting at something bigger for Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie? We don’t know yet, and we are aware that including this suit in the film might be an overkill that would destroy the purpose of the suit as a whole (unless we’re dealing with a teaser for a sequel), but this might indicate that a black suit is coming in the future; maybe not in Superman, but possibly in some of the sequels.
