DC’s Resurrection Man Is Finally Coming Back This Spring
A new chapter in the Resurrection Man saga begins this spring. The upcoming Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma is a six-issue series written by Ram V, best known for his work on Detective Comics. V teams up again with his old collaborator, artist Anand RK, who previously worked with him on Grafity’s Wall and provided cool covers for Batman: Urban Legends.
The series is based on Mitch Shelley, a man who can’t die. Created in 1997 by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Jackson ‘Butch’ Guice, Shelley has the power of resurrection. But each time he comes back to life, he loses his previous abilities and gains new ones.
His life isn’t about heroism but more about trying to understand his mysterious past, helping others, and staying out of the way of dangerous, immortal forces that want him for their own reasons.
In this new storyline, Shelley faces a new challenge. After living and dying countless times, he wakes up with a fresh mission: to save the universe. His enemy? A sadistic World War II internment camp officer who now has a twisted version of Mitch’s powers.
As Mitch battles through time and space, the line between right and wrong starts to blur, and he may need to die multiple times to save everything.
Ram V has been eager to tell this story for a while:
This is a story I’ve wanted to tell since I first started writing for DC. It’s lingered and stayed and got its hooks into my mind, and my love and excitement for the character and story has only grown.
Part of the joy of writing comics, for me, is getting to reinvent, reimagine characters in a way that speaks to my own preoccupations and joys; with Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, I hope readers will share in my excitement as Anand, [colorist Mike Spicer] and [letterer Aditya Bidikar] and I tell a story of endless lifetimes, saving universes and falling in love, spanning the length of all existence.

The series will explore ideas like endless lifetimes, saving the universe, and even falling in love across time. Fans can also look forward to Butch Guice contributing interior pages that summarize Mitch’s past in every issue.
The first issue of Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma will be out on April 2, and you can start preordering it on January 17. The covers will feature artwork from Jeff Dékal, Anand RK, Jackson Butch, and Dan Panosian, and you can check them out here:
