Demon Slayer: Can Tanjiro Defeat Daki by Himself?

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba is already deep into the new arc with the story now revolving around Entertainment District. Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu were recruited to infiltrate the Yoshiwara red-light district and find Tengen Uzui’s wives. The Sound Hashira’s three wives previously infiltrated the district as scouts as it is suspected that a demon has been feasting on humans for generations there.

Five episodes later into the Entertainment District arc, Tanjiro is facing a very powerful Upper Rank Six demon, Daki, and Zenitsu is missing and even presumed dead by some. Tengen Uzui discovers that Warabihime is a demon with the help of one of his wives, Hinatsuru.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 12 – Season 3 Episode 6

As we are waiting for the next episode to air on January 9th, 2022, beware of the spoilers ahead in case you still haven’t watched episode 5 from the Entertainment District arc. Some episode lists categorize the previous episode as episode 5 from season 3, while for some that would be episode 12, season 2.

Hinatsuru tells Tengen Uzui that she failed the mission and that her powers couldn’t match Warabihime, which is why she pretended she was ill and took the poison to appear so. Tengen Uzui advises Hinatsuru to leave the district and retreat to safety as he is heading towards Tanjiro who is facing the mightiest opponent he had met by far – Daki. Even though Daki knocks Tanjiro out of a single hit, Tanjiro is not giving up.

He is cautious with Daki, knowing that he doesn’t match her powers, but can’t withhold once provoked. He attacks her by using different styles of Hinokami Kagura, which catches Daki by surprise. That is when the demon realizes that Tanjiro may not be as weak as his experience might hint.

Daki senses that Tengen Uzui is arriving and getting closer, all while realizing that she has to be careful and smart with Tanjiro. Tanjiro’s determination might push him to new limits which might help the Demon Slayer in his battle against Daki.
