Demon Slayer: How Season 2 Revisits Zenitsu’s True Potential
Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba doesn’t seize to awe and thrill the faithful fandom, especially with the new Entertainment District arc that started with season 2 episode 8 after the Mugen Train arc. Mugen Train arc was featured in the Demon Slayer movie that premiered in Japan in October 2020, as well as in the first 7 episodes of season 2. We had a chance to see some of the earlier plots unravel together with getting some answers regarding Tanjiro’s scar.
What we already had a chance to see in Demon Slayer season 1 was Zenitsu’s true potential as a Demon Slayer whenever he is driven into a trans. As you could see more than a few times, when faced with grave danger or driven by his inner chivalry that outlives his fears and anxieties, Zenitsu falls into a trans which shows his true abilities, including speed, calculated moves, and unparalleled smoothness.
Of course, after he comes back to his senses, he doesn’t remember anything from the battle, which is unusually satisfying to watch. Luckily, season 2 revisits Zenitsu’s true potential, as well as Inosuke’s inability to memorize Tanjiro’s and Zenitsu’s names. When the group was attacked by a demon, Zenitsu was able to use the Thunder Breathing while in his sleep, which makes him a truly badass character.
If Zenitsu wasn’t busy with being anxious, scared, and obsessed with girls all the time, he could easily become one of the strongest Demon Slayer swordsmen in his generation and beyond. Still, it is fun to see how Zenitsu transforms from a wimpy Demon Slayer in training into a super-awesome and super-focused fighter. The team is yet to join Tanjiro on the battlefield against Daki, possibly in the very next episode.
The next episode, 7th in the Entertainment District arc, will air on January 16th, 2022. You can watch the new episode on Crunchyroll on the same date of release with a premium account.
