In October 2024, Sony’s PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers gained access to the classic survival horror game ‘Dino Crisis’. Initially, this title was exclusive to Premium members. However, as of November 26, 2024, ‘Dino Crisis’ is now available for purchase by all PlayStation users, no longer requiring a subscription.
This move allows a broader audience to experience the game, which was previously limited to Premium subscribers.
Additionally, ‘Resident Evil Director’s Cut’, another iconic PS1 survival horror game, has also been made available for individual purchase. Both titles are priced at £7.99 each.
The inclusion of ‘Dino Crisis’ in the PlayStation catalog has been met with enthusiasm, especially among fans eager for a revival of the series. A Capcom fan poll published in June 2024 revealed that ‘Dino Crisis’ is the series most fans want to see return.
Despite this interest, series creator Shinji Mikami expressed reservations about a new installment. In an interview with Eurogamer, he mentioned that the success of Capcom’s ‘Monster Hunter’ series has filled the niche for dinosaur-themed games, leaving little room for a ‘Dino Crisis’ revival.
For those interested in revisiting or discovering these classics, both ‘Dino Crisis’ and ‘Resident Evil Director’s Cut’ are now accessible for purchase on the PlayStation Store.
