Disney announced today four new anime for its streaming platform that are coming in 2022. Those anime are Disney’s Twisted Wonderland, the new The Tatami Galaxy sequel Yojohan Time Machine Blues, the new Black ★★ Rock Shooter DAWN FALL anime, and the Summer Time Rendering.
Twisted Wonderland is being adapted into an anime for Disney+. It is an adaptation of a mobile game, developed with Aniplex in 2020, and it is hugely popular in Japan.
The concept creator for Twisted Wonderland is Yana Toboso, best known for the Black Butler manga series. She will also serve as a scenarist and the character designer.
The anime will follow the reimagining of Disney’s villains as they attend Night Raven College. Besides this announcement, nothing else is revealed for Twisted Wonderland.
We found out that the writer for Black ★★ Rock Shooter DAWN FALL will be Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass).

Black Rock Shooter is a media franchise based on an illustration by huke, a world-famous Japanese illustrator, that has spawned music, action figures and a video game. In this animation, Black Rock Shooter has been reborn as a completely new anime, with scriptwriter Makoto Fukami, best known for his work with Psycho-Pass and Resident Evil: Vendetta.

Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island.

The sequel to The Tatami Galaxy, Yojohan Time Machine Blues, is directed by Shingo Natsume (Sonny Boy) at Science Saru.
It is based on a script by Makoto Ueda (Night is Short, Walk on Girl), with the original characters designed by Yusuke Nakamura (The Tatami Galaxy).

Yojouhan Time Machine Blues takes place during a sweltering midsummer day when Ozu, the protagonist’s “terrible friend,” accidentally drowns the only remote control for the air conditioning unit in their apartment. While they discuss their predicament with Akashi, the protagonist’s raven-haired love interest, a sloppily-dressed time-travelling student arrives from 25 years in the future, prompting the protagonist to borrow his time machine in an effort to snatch the remote control from the past before it breaks.
