Disney+ has just shared some exciting first look images of its new UK Original Series, “Renegade Nell.” Scheduled for a Spring 2024 release, this series is generating quite a buzz. Created and written by the talented Sally Wainwright, known for her work on “Happy Valley” and “Gentleman Jack,” and directed by Ben Taylor, of “Sex Education” fame, the show promises a thrilling adventure.

“Renegade Nell” stars Louisa Harland in the lead role. She portrays Nell, a young woman with a sharp wit and bravery, who finds herself falsely accused of murder. This accusation turns her into a notorious highwaywoman in 18th Century England. Things take a magical turn when Nell meets Billy Blind, a mystical spirit played by Nick Mohammed. Nell’s journey is not just about escaping her false accusation but also about embracing a destiny far greater than she ever imagined.

The series features a rich cast, including Frank Dillane as Charles Devereux, a charming but potentially dangerous character. Adrian Lester takes on the role of the Earl of Poynton, a cunning political schemer. Alice Kremelberg plays the ambitious and power-seeking Sofia Wilmot.

Joely Richardson adds to the mix as the unique newspaper magnate Lady Eularia Moggerhanger. Adding more depth to the story are Pip Torrens as Lord Blancheford, Jake Dunn as Thomas, Ényì Okoronkwo as Rasselas, and Craig Parkinson as Sam, Nell’s supportive father. Nell’s journey is further enriched by the presence of her younger sisters, Roxy and George, played by newcomers Bo Bragason and Florence Keen.
