Who is Naruto Uzimaki?
Naruto Uzumaki (Japanese: うずまき ナルト, Hepburn: Uzumaki Naruto) is the main protagonist of the anime and manga Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. He is a young ninja from the fictional village of Konohagakure. The villagers ridicule Naruto on account of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox—a malevolent creature that attacked Konohagakure during its history—that was sealed away in Naruto’s body.
His mother was Kushina Uzumaki, and his father was the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. Immediately after Naruto’s birth, the village of Konohagakure was attacked by Kyuubi, a demonic nine-tailed fox. It terrorized the village and almost destroyed it, killing a lot of the inhabitants.
The Fourth Hokage fought the Fox with the help of a special technique, which he used to defeat Nine-Tails, and then used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal and locked the demon’s Yang half inside the boy, thereby sacrificing his life. Knowing that the people of Konohagakure would hate Naruto because he carried Kurama inside him, the Fourth Hokage told the previous, Third Hogake, Hiruzen Sarutobi, to convey to the villagers that they must respect Naruto and accept him as an equal because he indirectly participated in saving the village.
However, as everyone knew the truth about Naruto, they avoided him because they were afraid, while the other children made fun of him. However, later, everyone accepted him as one of them. Iruka Umino is the first person to believe and trust Naruto. The situation changes from that moment and Naruto becomes more appreciated. He improved his reputation by fighting Pain, who completely destroyed the village; Naruto won and became a hero.
He also played a crucial role in the Fourth Shinobi World War, where he spoiled the villains’ plan to turn life into one big dream and thus destroy the world and reality. During the war, Naruto gains the power of the Six Paths from Hagoromo; uses his senjutsu; Sasuke returns to Konohagakure and stands by their side against Akatsuki; and fights together against Madara and Kaguya (the first person to ever possess a chakra, a connoisseur of each jutsu).
After the war, Naruto was proclaimed a national hero, Kakashi Hatake became the Sixth Hokage, and soon after, Naruto became the Seventh Hokage. Naruto later marries Hinata Hyūga and they have two children, a son named Boruto and a daughter named Himawari.
Does Naruto become Hokage?
Naruto’s childhood dream was to become Hokage of Konohagakure. The title of Hokage, as we know, is a very prestigious title given only to the most worthy and capable of fighters from each individual village. It is the highest honour a shinobi could attain during his lifetime.
Seeing how much he loved his village and his friends, Naruto wanted to do everything he could to protect them and the best way to take care of them was to become Hokage; this is why he worked so much and trained so hard – he had a goal to achieve. So, did Naruto become Hogake in the end? He did. Naruto Uzumaki finally became the Seventh Hokage, after inheriting the title from Kakashi Hatake, his friend, former mentor and the Sixth Hokage.
In which episode does Naruto become Hokage?
As far as the exact moment when Naruto becomes the Seventh Hokage is concerned, it was not shown explicitly in any episode of Naruto: Shippuden. We know it happened, but the scene itself was never shown in the main anime. Still, there is an OVA (or ONA, however you want to look at it) called “The Day Naruto Became The 7th Hokage”, which you can watch in the video below. This OVA shows the ceremony through which Naruto became Hokage, but is not part of the main anime production, which is why it was released separately.
Why does Naruto become Hokage?
Now that we know that Naruto became the Seventh Hokage, we have to tell you why it happened. Frist of all, Kakashi was a very reluctant Hokage and we can see him wanting to get away from the title as soon as possible. Naruto, who had become the strongest shinobi of his genetarion, was a prime candidate, especially since he wanted to become Hokage since childhood.
After Naruto proved his worth and his loyalty – as his power had already been proven – during the Fourth Shinobi World War, there was no other logical choice but for the reluctant Kakashi to give up the title and pass it on to Naruto, who thus became the Seventh Hokage, thereby fulfilling his childhood dream. The story of Naruto becoming Hokage is a truly emotional ride and we’re happy to have been able to present it to you in today’s article.
