Fantastic Four: First Steps is a movie that both Marvel and Kevin Feige are betting on. After two failed attempts to properly market the titular superhero group, the MCU is now taking out the big guns in an attempt to finally provide us with a decent Fantastic Four project that the fans will love and which is going to be successfully integrated into the MCU.

Although the project is some time away from its premiere, we are gradually receiving more information and rumors. The latest updates confirm that filming will take place in Spain. Additionally, the Calatrava will serve as the headquarters of the United Nations in the film.

Based on this piece of information, we cannot but wonder – is the movie going to revisit the famous scene from Captain America: Civil War, which also involved the United Nations? Here are the possibilities.

We know that the movie is going to be filmed in Spain and that Spain will be the “headquarters” of the United Nations for the movie. While we still don’t have any information about the details of the story, some fans think that the United Nations might be a reference to Captain America: Civil War, which also featured the United Nations in one of the MCU’s most famous scenes.

As you will probably remember, a bomb was set off during a United Nations meeting in Vienna, killing T’Challa’s father, T’Chaka. The bomb was set off by Bucky Barnes and that proved to be a pivotal moment for the evolution of the story.

Could something like this happen in the Fantastic Four movie? Well, there are always various possibilities in that aspect, but we don’t see how Galactus would profit from causing havoc in the United Nations. That said, with the Fantastic Four being set in a different universe, this could be a reference to Doctor Doom, which would be interesting.

Not that long ago, we reported how the director confirmed that there are no additional superheroes in the movie he’s making:

“The great thing about this is we’re building a new universe where there are no other heroes. It’s the Fantastic Four.”

In light of this fact, it is definitely interesting to observe the meaning of the United Nations scene.

We don’t think it will have much to do with the MCU scene or Galactus, but if it is a nod to Doctor Doom, then it could be potentially effective, and something that the fans will end up enjoying, ultimately, and that is something that everyone wants in the end, right? So, here’s to hoping!
