Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood and an actor and entertainer who has a big fanbase and a lot of influence. Starting out as a WWE star, he soon transitioned to television and movies, becoming one of the most popular action stars in the world.

Of course, with such popularity also comes a lot of money, and with Johnson’s filmography containing a long list of projects, you can imagine that he managed to capitalize on his success by signing lucrative contracts that have brought him large sums of money throughout his career. That is going to be the focus of this report.

Namely, it has just been revealed that Johnson has broken some records in that aspect and that he is now among the highest-grossing actors of all time when Hollywood is concerned. Whatever you might think of him as an actor or a person, the numbers definitely speak for themselves, and here are the details.

Johnson’s career has had its ups and downs, as every actor’s career. He started off as a WWE star before transitioning to the big screen, making a career as an action-comedy star.

The fans loved his natural approach and his acting, which – despite not being Oscar-worthy – entertained everyone, and Johnson began getting more and more roles as the years passed. On top of that, he set a physical standard for a lot of male fans, which raised his popularity even more.

Among the noteworthy projects that helped both his career and his checkbook are The Scorpion King, Race to Witch Mountain (2009), Tooth Fairy (2010), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), and Jungle Cruise (2021), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), Hercules (2014), Skyscraper (2018), San Andreas (2015) and Rampage (2018), Baywatch (2017), and Red Notice (2021).

He also played Luke Hobbs in the Fast & Furious films, starting with Fast Five (2011), as well as Black Adam in the eponymous DCEU film that ultimately flopped. He is also known for playing the main male role in Moana.

Having said this, you can understand how lucrative he is as an actor and why the studios are willing to have him in their movies.

As Collider reports, Johson, as a lead star, has grossed $3.686 billion domestically up to this point, which puts him $1 million ahead of Johnny Depp; this makes him the 14th-highest-grossing film star in domestic box office history. On the global scale, where his movies have earned more than $10 billion worldwide, he is the 13th-highest-grossing star, but he is trailing Depp in that category.

With Moana 2 coming out, Johnson’s overall numbers are sure to increase both globally and domestically, so we are sure that we will have more to report on in the future.
