The series was renewed for a second season in June 2022, after the series had become one of Netflix’s biggest hits to date, earning praise from critics and fans. The series has since been in production, and the second season will officially air on Netflix sometime in the second half of 2024, as a precise release date has not been set as of the time of writing.

The episode count is always an important piece of information for fans, which is why everyone is eager to know how many episodes an upcoming season is going to have. As far as Squid Game Season 2 is concerned, we do not have an official episode count as of the time of writing. The first season has nine episodes, so it is likely that the second season is going to have a similar number of episodes.

Season 2 will follow hero Gi-hun as he abandons his plans to go to the United States. Instead, he begins a chase with an important motive.

With the season approaching its premiere, the majority of the cast members have been revealed, as Netflix has even revealed a teaser video showing the main cast members of Season 2. Since Squid Game has a standalone plot for each season, returns from Season 1 are not really expected, but there will be some familiar faces. Of course, this is not the complete list and it is going to be updated in the upcoming weeks and months, but this is what we have as of the time of writing.
