An adaptation of Martin’s prequel novellas was announced in 2021, and it was confirmed that a series would be produced in April 2023. The series is, at the time, in the very early stages of production, although filming has commenced, so a release window has not been given as of the time of writing, and we doubt it will be before 2025.

How many episodes will A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have?

The episode count is always an important piece of information for fans, which is why everyone is eager to know how many episodes an upcoming season is going to have. As far as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is concerned, we can confirm that the first season will consist of 6 episodes in total.

The exact premise of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms prequel series is not known, but Max has released an official short teaser synopsis for the upcoming season, and here is what they have revealed: “A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (Ansell). Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

As we have said, it is way too early to have any official casting updates, as the season hasn’t even entered production properly. Still, we do have some information related to the cast, although it is a very limited set of data and more cast members will certainly be revealed in the future.
