As American filmgoers will know, Fandango is one of the most important places you need to go to if you want to buy movie tickets. They don’t have everything, but they will satisfy the majority of your needs. At the same time, Fandango also closely follows the movie market, which is why it often releases relevant lists related to the popularity of certain titles or characters based on the numbers they are able to collect. Recently, the company has provided us with a list of the 10 most anticipated fall movies, and we have decided to report on that important list in this article.
Of course, since this is indeed an important list, we have decided to report on it, so we are going to bring you the results by listing the top 10 most popular movies on this list, from 10th to first place, with the first one being the most popular title. We hope you’ll enjoy it!
10. The Return
And while this movie won’t come to theaters until later this year, it will have its premiere in Toronto in September. Starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, this movie will actually bring us an interesting new take on the story of Odysseus as depicted in Homer’s The Odyssey. Based on the names involved, this promises to be a very interesting film, which is why it makes sense that it is here.
9. Lee
The true story of photographer Lee Miller, who went from being a model to being one of the best World War II reporters, covering the events for Vogue. The film premiered in Toronto last year and it will be released theatrically in September, which means that the premiere is coming soon. Starring Kate Winslet, the movie is certainly going to be an interesting biopic about a woman who left her mark on history.
8. Smile 2
The first Smile was a solid outing; it was nowhere near a perfect film, but it was intriguing and creepy, which is why the fans loved it so much. This sequel is going to bring us a new story from the same fictional universe, and seeing how horror movies have been popular in recent years, we are not surprised that the fans are yearning for this movie, which will arrive in October.
7. Speak No Evil
Speak No Evil comes out in September, which is quite soon, and will star James McAvoy. This complex psychological thriller is sure to attract a lot of attention, especially since McAvoy is known for his portrayals of weird and complex characters, like the ones from Split. The early reviews are praising the film, so we’re looking forward to it as well, as we’re certain that McAvoy is going to be great.
6. The Wild Robot
Dreamworks’ new animated movie, which will be released in late September, is a story of how technology interacts with nature, as well as of how one can surpass their own programming and become a better person. The visuals are great and we haven’t seen such a movie in ages, which means that we might just have something good and original in front of us.
5. Wolfs
This movie will premiere in Venice before being released in September. Produced by Apple, the movie is an action comedy that will follow two professional “fixers,” played by George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The trailers have been hyping the audiences up and from everything we’ve seen, this promises to be a fairly good and very entertaining outing, which has us excited.
4. Transformers One
The first animated installment in the Transformers live-action franchise, Transformer One will tell the origin story of both Optimus Prime and Megatron, of their friendship, and their ultimate break. This is going to be a very different take on the live-action characters, but it might turn out to be fun and action-packed, which is what the younger moviegoers will definitely love.
3. Joker: Folie à Deux
Should this movie have been made? Probably not. Is it being made? Yes, and it’s coming out in October. Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix star in this movie, which will explore the relationship between The Joker and Harley Quinn from a somewhat different perspective. We don’t know if that’ll work, but the movie is definitely very promising.
2. Venom: The Last Dance
Tom Hardy’s Venom has been extremely popular, despite the fact that the movies have not been that well received. This movie, which comes out in October as well, will supposedly be the final film in the Venom-centered trilogy, so it will be interesting to see what Sony has in store for the character after this movie, but this one is deservedly on the list.
1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Tim Burton’s big return to the big screen comes with the long-awaited sequel to his hit film Beetlejuice. Michael Keaton and Wynona Rider are back in their roles, with Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Jenna Ortega joining them.
