Fermat’s Cuisine by Yugo Kobayashi is officially getting an anime adaptation, CinemaToday reports! The popular cooking manga, which follows a genius mathematician named Kitada Gaku and his culinary journey with the charismatic chef Asakura Kai, has been a hit with fans.

In the series, Gaku uses his mathematical skills to create impressive recipes that leave those around him in awe. He also grows as a chef alongside his partner, Umi.

Kobayashi’s manga, serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine by Kodansha, was adapted into a TV drama in 2023, starring Takahashi Fumiya and Shison Jun. It quickly gained attention for its unique mix of math and cooking.

To mark the anime announcement, Kobayashi shared an illustration of Gaku in a chef’s coat holding a Umi doll:

In his comment, he expressed gratitude and surprise over the anime adaptation. He mentioned this was the second time his work has been adapted and shared that he’s looking forward to watching it every week. He hopes viewers will get hungry after watching the show late at night and be inspired to snack!
