Last month’s Avengers Assemble left us hanging with an intense cliffhanger. The Serpent Society introduced a lethal toxin called the Serpent’s Tears, aiming to unleash it on the public. In a dramatic attempt to save lives, Captain America threw himself on a grenade filled with poison.

But instead of just stopping the gas, Cap was transformed into a terrifying creature known as Cap-Snake. Viper triumphantly declared, ‘What remains of Captain America now serves the Serpent!’

Avengers Assemble is brought to us by writer Steve Orlando, with artwork from penciler José Luis Soares Pinto and inker Oren Junior. The vibrant colors are handled by Sonia Oback, and Cory Petit manages the lettering. The series follows Captain America’s team, the AVENG.E.R.S. – the Avengers Emergency Response Squad.

Next week, issue #5, the final part of the series, hits the shelves. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will come together for one last stand against the threat. We have an exclusive look at six interior pages from this thrilling issue, showing the team preparing for their biggest challenge yet.

Marvel’s teaser for this upcoming issue reveals more chaos to come. Cap-Snake is on a destructive rampage, and the AVENG.E.R.S. must find a way to stop him. The Serpent Society, having tapped into Mephisto’s dark powers, might finally have the weapon they need to defeat the Avengers.

Avengers Assemble #5 will be available on January 15, so get ready for an action-packed conclusion!
