The next villain-themed entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), Kraven the Hunter, will premiere on December 13, 2024, which is quite soon, as you can see. This year saw the conclusion of the Venom trilogy, which was, for better or worse, the cornerstone of SSU. Nevertheless, the SSU is still working on new projects, and this is the next one we will see.

Although Kraven the Hunter is not quite a masterpiece based on the early reactions, it is a solid movie that can measure up to some Venom movies. Despite that, the early box office projections aren’t looking good, but the most recent video released online might help in that aspect.

Namely, Men’s Health magazine has just released an exclusive video showing off how Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been preparing for the role of Kraven the Hunter for the movie, and we can honestly say that it is an impressive regime. Keep reading for more details!

Sony is continuing to build its Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man with Kraven the Hunter, which is going to be the next villain-themed film after Morbius and the Venom trilogy. But, while the movie has attracted some strong cast members, the early projections aren’t looking that good. But, as we’ve said, the following video might change this a bit:

As you can see, Taylor-Johnson, who is also the biggest candidate to become the next James Bond, has undergone an impressive training regime to build up his form and his physique for the role of Kraven.

The video above provides us with a lot of details, but the original Men’s Health article reveals exactly how it all happened, and you are about to find out how Taylor-Johnson became Kraven.

As for his diet, the article reveals the following:

To eat like the world’s greatest hunter, [Nate] Schmit built Taylor-Johnson’s diet around real food and stripped away the extras, like sugar. “The idea was, we have this monumental task of eating this much food—how can we do it, and keep you functional?”. That meant getting protein from real sources in any way possible, from bone broth and gelatin gummies and marshmallows to steaks. Then, they added carbs for plenty of fuel to burn.

The actor had to adhere to this diet for about three months before the proper training regime started, and if you want to know what exactly he did to make his upper body look like on the video, here are the instructions:

The workouts were generally organized by upper-lower body splits, with four to five training sessions per week. Kingsbury challenged Taylor-Johnson to take on each exercise for 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps, pushing to failure with one rep left in reserve. Each session, Taylor-Johnson’s focus was to do one more rep than he did last time to drive muscle growth.

  • Bench Press: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps
  • Lat Pulldown: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps
  • Seated Row: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps
  • Cable Preacher Biceps Curl: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps
  • Single-Arm Triceps Cable Pushdown: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps
  • Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps

Finally, the actor also revealed that he had to prepare for the animalistic movements and stunts, so he had David Kingsbury prepare some movement-specific exercises in addition to the workouts, and as Taylor-Johnson himself said: “I was doing a lot of parkour movements and quadruped movements—meaning I run on my hands and feet.”

So, if you’re impressed with the actor’s physique and want to do the same, here are your instructions. Enjoy!
