‘Fortnite’ Movie Reportedly In Development By Epic Games

The widely popular video game might get its movie adaptation. Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite is reportedly considering making a feature film based on their ultra-popular, free-to-play, video game.

Fortnite first appeared in 2017 and it quickly became a global phenomenon, with millions of players all over the world. And with so many fans, looks like Epic will try to expand their media even more. According to The Information, Epic had a conversation about “launching an entertainment division focused on scripted video programming”, and with that, there’s a pretty good possibility that fans will get some new form Fortnite feature.

Although Epic is currently in a legal battle with Apple and Google, which resulted in Fortnite being banned from the App Store and Play Store indefinitely, Epic is still going forward with ambitious plans for media expansion.

Jason McGatlin, former vice president of Physical Production at Lucasfilm recently joined Epic Games as the president of Special Projects. Considering he was executive producer of all Star Wars films at Disney, he could be the key figure in achieving this new ambitious project Epic has in mind.
