Netflix has released the official trailer for the Thai supernatural thriller Ghost Lab or Phi Hxng Ptibatikar. The director is Paween Purijitpanya (Body, Phobia), and the screenplay is signed by Purijitpanya, Vasudhorn Piyaromna (Bad Genius) and Tossaphon Riantong (I Told Sunset About You). Executive producers are Paiboon Damrongchaitham (Alone), Boosaba Daorueng (Shutter), Jira Maligool (Mekhong Full Moon Party) and Jina Osothsilp (The Teacher’s Diary). This is Netflix’s first collaboration with GDH 559, a subsidiary of the Thai conglomerate GMM Grammy.
The afterlife experiment goes very wrong when Gla and Wee, two friends of the doctor, first see the “ghost” with their own eyes. This encounter will yield an insatiable instinct to find a scientific explanation for ghosts and to find evidence of the afterlife. Their fixation and reckless search for knowledge will take them down a rabbit hole that will cost them friendships and their loved ones.
“The story is quite unconventional because it tries to explore more deeply our faith in the supernatural and whether it can be proven with science. I am honored to be a partner with a global platform that enables creative expression and I hope that this film will encourage the audience to think about their ways of life and find answers to their questions. ” – said the film’s director.
Starring Thanapob Leeratanakachorn, Paris Intarakomalyasut and Nuttanicha Dungwattanawanich.
Ghost Lab on Netflix arrives on May 26th.
