Giancarlo Esposito confirms he is returning for The Mandalorian Season 3

We will soon have a chance to again see Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, because the actor just confirmed he will soon start shooting.

We really liked Esposito as Gideon in first two seasons of The Mandalorian and are really glad he is coming back.

The actor recently confirmed at GalaxyCon Raleigh that he will soon start shooting new episodes, and now revealed he is returning for WRAL.

He didn’t reveal much more then that we will see his villainous character in new adventures.

But he did revealed that The Book of Boba Fett,The Mandalorian spin-off series, just recently wrapped filming.

Esposito then suggested that filming season 3 is what’s next on the agenda for Star Wars at Disney+.

“They just finished shooting Boba Fett and soon they will start on season 3,” Esposito said.

One thing that could be a problem with starting shooting on season 3 so soon is the fact that Pedro Pascal is in Canada filming HBO TV show The Last of Us.

Still the good news is that his absence is not that big of a deal. He is mostly seen wearing his mask, and he can do a voiceover separately as Din-Djarin.

“We never have to wait on Pedro,” Esposito noted, which probably implies we won’t be seeing a lot of him unmasked. “I can’t speak to that. I mean, I know he’d love to be more off the helmet, but you know, his job is to be in the helmet. You know what I mean? That, that’s the deal.”

The Mandalorian was a big hit for Disney and Star Wars fans immediately loved the show.

It follows Pedro Pascal as Din-Djarin aka The Mandalorian, as he is on the run throughout the Galaxy trying to find and retrieve “Baby Yoda,” also known as “The Child” aka Grogu.

Other then Esposito and Pascal, stars of The Mandalorian are also Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Katee Sackhoff, Temuera Morrison, Amy Sedaris, Ming-Na Wen, and Mercedes Varnado. Gina Carano played Cara Dune in the first two seasons but she was fired by Disney and won’t be returning for season 3.

Even though we now know that season 3 has started shooting, we still don’t know the release date. Still, we can hope it will come as most Star Wars property do, in December (2021).
