HBO’s House of the Dragon, a spin-off series related to Game of Thrones, was welcomed by both fans and critics, becoming yet another hit series for the streaming service. The first season aired in 2022 and consisted of 10 episodes, and it has been a while since we’ve known that the series would be getting a second season as well. The season is premiering on June 16, 2024 and everyone’s slowly preparing for the premiere, as HBO is releasing more and more promotional and teaser material for the upcoming series. Today, a month before the premiere, a brand new trailer has been released, revealing more exciting details, scenes, and characters.

As we reported earlier, the premiere of House of the Dragon Season 2 will be next month, and the season will consist of eight episodes in total. This is the first in the line of a series of planned Game of Thrones spin-offs and it seems that HBO is on a good run as far as this fictional universe is concerned.

As you might have expected, we are going to bring you the trailer first before we continue with our report:

As you can see, the trailer reveals several new scenes ahead of the premiere, as well as some new characters and moments, which is certainly going to excite fans who are eagerly awaiting the new season. The official synopsis for the upcoming season reveals the following:

Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story. For global audiences, “All Must Choose” their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.

So far, it has been confirmed that Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham will all reprise their roles from the first season.

On top of that, confirmed newcomers to Season 2 include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.

As stated, the season premieres on June 16, 2024, exclusively on HBO and will air on a weekly basis with eight episodes in total. We are going to keep following the series, so be sure to keep following us for all the updates.
