Rumor: Henry Cavill to Appear as Wolverine in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'?!

For many fans, Deadpool & Wolverine is the most anticipated film of the year since it finally brings Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine together, a team-up that numerous fans wanted to see for a very long time.

Marvel is constantly tempting us with fresh teasers and images, and the movie promises to be absolutely insane and a lot of fun. On top of that, numerous rumors about the planned cameos – and there are going to be many of them – are constantly appearing online and in this report, we have a very interesting one for you, a rumor that will see many fans of the franchise happy.

Namely, it is known that MCU fans have been calling Henry Cavill to take on a role in the universe after having been fired from the DCU, where he played Superman. And while Captain Britain has been the most often-requested role, a recent rumor suggests that we might see Cavill in a different role in the upcoming blockbuster!

We have to warn you that we are dealing with rumors here, but they come from industry insiders who have, in some previous instances, been right with some of their rumors, so this one might also be true. We don’t know if it is, so take it with a grain of salt, but it certainly entertains an interesting possibility.

The piece of news comes from GiantFreakinRobot, but several other industry insiders have also reported the same, which adds some substance to the whole rumor, although we haven’t seen any official report or confirmation related to this casting.

Based on the rumor, Henry Cavill, who previously played Superman in the DCEU, will indeed join the MCU but in a cameo appearance as of this time. He will supposedly play an alternative version of Wolverine that will be shown in the movie, wearing a long brown coat, which – if true – will be a proper nostalgia bomb, as X-Men fans will know.

We don’t know if this means that Cavill will be taking over the role in the MCU, but it could mean exactly that, which will see many fans happy, we’re sure. At the same time, it might just be a cameo similar to John Krasinski’s appearance as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange 2, which ultimately provided a bit of eye candy for the fans, but resulted in nothing, as Pedro Pascal was ultimately cast as Reed Richards in the MCU.

Of course, this all applies only if the rumor proves to be correct. If it ends up being just a rumor, we’ll have to wait for Cavill to potentially take on a role in the MCU at a later date.
