‘Hereditary’ Star Milly Shapiro Returns to Horror in ‘The Hallowarrior’ with Shannyn Sossamon

Variety has revealed that Milly Shapiro, celebrated for her role in ‘Hereditary,’ is set to star in a new horror-thriller titled ‘The Hallowarrior,’ alongside Shannyn Sossamon.

Directed by newcomer Ben Sottak, this post-apocalyptic horror-thriller promises a Halloween twist that could make it a staple for the spooky season.

The plot centers around Pumpkin, portrayed by Shapiro, who is the last girl on Earth following a catastrophic plague.

Living in a desolate wasteland, she faces her loneliest Halloween yet, until a brutal gang of raiders, led by Sossamon’s character Thalia, disrupts her solitude.

Armed with only candy, wit, and weapons, Pumpkin must defend herself against the overwhelming threat.

‘The Hallowarrior’ is not just a survival story but a nostalgic nod to the genre films that have delighted audiences every October.

“This movie is dripping with nostalgic fall atmosphere, cheer-inducing kills and a lovable ‘final girl,'” Sottak shared, expressing his excitement for the film’s potential to become a fan favorite for annual Halloween viewings.

The film also stars Ajani Russell and AJ Bowen, adding depth to an already intriguing cast. Behind the scenes, the movie was produced by Emmajane Hoffman and Sottak under their new banner, Strange Aeons.

Additional production support came from Gabriel Rosenstein for The Spitting Image, alongside Danielle Benedict and Jake Casey for The Dazey Phase.

Filming concluded in Syracuse, N.Y., where the cast and crew have brought this chilling vision to life. The production has even released a first-look image of a bloodied Shapiro ready for the Halloween fight of her life.

North American rights are being handled by Cinetic, while international sales are managed by Architect, promising a wide reach for this eagerly anticipated horror flick.
