‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Release Schedule Officially Confirmed by HBO

'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Release Schedule Officially Confirmed by HBO

HBO’s House of the Dragon, a spin-off series related to Game of Thrones, was welcomed by both fans and critics, becoming yet another hit series for the streaming service. The first season aired in 2022 and consisted of 10 episodes, while the second season is premiering soon – on June 16, 2024 – and will consist of eight episodes in total. The second season will continue the story of the first one and complicate the intrigues in the Game of Thrones sequel even further. Now, while we have already composed a guide on the series for you, in this article, we can report that HBO has released the full release schedule of the second season of the show.

The release schedule doesn’t reveal anything spectacular, but you will now know when the episodes will air, so you can set the dates if you want to watch them as soon as they are released on the platform.

As we have said above, House of the Dragon Season 2 will have eight episodes in total, which is two less than the first season, but that probably doesn’t mean much for the show going forward, as it is a standard seasonal format these days. The episodes are going to air each Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, according to the following schedule:

  • Episode 1: Sunday, June 16
  • Episode 2: Sunday, June 23
  • Episode 3: Sunday, June 30
  • Episode 4: Sunday, July 7
  • Episode 5: Sunday, July 14
  • Episode 6: Sunday, July 21
  • Episode 7: Sunday, July 28
  • Episode 8: Sunday, August 4

As you can see, the episodes are going to air at regular seven-day intervals, and as things stand now, there won’t be any delays. Of course, there might be some changes along the way, but we cannot know that yet; if any changes to the release schedules do happen, you will be the first to know, as we are going to report on that here on Fiction Horizon.

And that is more or less it. The season is premiering soon, and in case you’re looking forward to knowing what is going to happen, here is a short synopsis for the upcoming season:

Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story. For global audiences, “All Must Choose” their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.

Be sure to keep following us for more updates on the upcoming season, as we will bring you all the latest here on Fiction Horizon.
