The entire aspect of Kakashi having a Sharingan is extremely interesting so if you want to learn more about it make sure to read this article all the way through.
How Did Kakashi Get His Sharingan?
During the Third Shinobi World War, Kakashi was given command of a squad to demolish the Kannabi Bridge, which would prevent Iwagakure from using Kusagakure as a base of operations.
Minato and Rin brought gifts to Kakashi to commemorate his promotion to jnin before the assignment, however, Obito had forgotten, aggravating their already strained relationship.
Minato was quickly sent to the front lines, allowing the squad to finish the task on their own under Kakashi’s supervision. Iwa-nin spotted the three along the way, and Rin was apprehended.
Kakashi chose to desert Rin, feeling that it was more crucial to complete the task than to worry about Rin’s safety. Obito grew angry at the thought and demanded that they concentrate on rescuing her.
He departed on his own after Kakashi refused, claiming that Kakashi was worse than garbage for leaving his comrades. Obito discovered the Iwa-hideaway nin’s cave but was discovered by a disguised Taiseki before he could start a rescue mission.
Obito’s previous remarks motivated Kakashi, and he arrived just in time to save him from Taiseki’s strike, although he lost his left eye in the process. Obito’s Sharingan was aroused by his desire to aid Kakashi, allowing him to see through Taiseki’s disguise and kill him.
Obito and Kakashi broke inside the cave and freed Rin from her shackles. Kakko, her prisoner, forced the cave to cave in around them. Kakashi was attacked in his blind spot and collapsed as the squad fled for the escape. Obito moved Kakashi out of the path as he saw him going to be struck by a falling boulder and became stuck in his place.
With his right side crushed and no way out, Obito accepted his destiny and made an offering to Kakashi: he would give him his left Sharingan as an apology for not bringing him a present sooner.
Rin conducted the transplant, and Kakashi utilized his new Sharingan to kill Kakko when the surgery was completed.
Iwa troops arrived soon and compressed the rubble more, forcing Kakashi and Rin to abandon Obito.
Obito pondered as the boulders closed around him that he had finally begun to get along with Kakashi, but that he couldn’t admit to Rin that he loved her.
How Did Kakashi Get His Other Sharingan?
During the fourth shinobi war, Kakashi received Sharingan in both eyes. Young Rin meets kid Obito in episode 473, and Obito tells her that Kalashi is helpless and that he would give him his Sharingan for a while.
According to him, “chakra is an energy that connects two realms,” therefore he uses chakra to return to the living world. There, he transports Kakashi to a location where they transform into children, and Obito bestows his Sharingan upon him.
This made it so that Kakashi had Sharingan in both of his eyes, however, after they left the realm where they were transported. Kakashi did have both of his Sharingan’s after leaving the realm since the point of transferring the Sharingan was to aid Kakashi in battle.
What Episode Does Kakashi Get His Sharingan?
Obito’s comrade Rin had been abducted, and he wanted to save her. Though Kakashi had intended to finish the task first, he eventually chose to assist Obito. Despite the fact that the two were able to save Rin, Obito was forced to sacrifice himself in order to save Kakashi.
Obito offered Kakashi his eye to replace the one Kakashi had damaged in combat, knowing he wouldn’t make it out alive. His newly awakened Sharingan was incorporated in the eye. As a result, Kakashi became Kakashi of the Sharingan at the same age as he achieved Jonin status: 12 years old.
All of this happened in episode 120 called Roar and Howl! The Ultimate Tag-Team!
Why is Kakashi Sharingan Always on?
One thing that stands out about Kakashi’s Sharingan is the fact that it always seems to be on. While that much is clear, many may wonder is there an explanation for this?
He can’t deactivate the Sharingan since he isn’t an Uchiha, and it quickly drains his chakra anytime he uses it, leaving him bedridden after prolonged usage.
Kakashi isn’t a member of the Uchiha clan. He has an eye that is unique to the Uchiha clan, although it was given to Kakashi by a natural-born Uchiha user. After being crushed to death, Obito Uchiha gave Kakashi his eye. He didn’t want to waste his eye since if Kakashi was transferred, he may get his abilities.
To avoid this, he keeps the eye covered when he isn’t using it. Despite his handicap, Itachi Uchiha has observed that he has amazing proficiency with the sword.
How Did Kakashi Lose His Sharingan?
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kakashi loses his Sharingan to Madara Uchiha. Obito’s spirit momentarily returned from the afterlife and possessed Kakashi’s body after he died with both Sharingan’s, at which time Obito channeled both of his eyes’ strength into Kakashi, allowing full use of both powers.
After it seems like the fight was almost lost Obito manages to save Naruto and as they return they stop Madara from killing Guy. The two start to fight with Madara and the pair is successful in forcing him into the defense.
As the fight continues Madara becomes increasingly desperate for Rinnegan in Obito’s possession and seeing no other way out of the fight he steals Kakashi’s Sharingan and implants it in himself to help him escape.
This leaves Kakashi without his Sharingan, but Naruto manages to restore any sustained injuries and the eye that held his Sharingan.
Does Kakashi Get His Sharingan Back in Boruto?
Since Kakashi no longer had his Sharingan the last time the fans saw him, many wondered if he would get it back during Boruto.
We are reconnected with the former Hokage while he is with Might Guy and their escort Mirai Sarutobi on a mission. The three embark on a task that takes them far outside of Leaf Village, and it culminates with Kakashi unleashing his old bloodline limit for a brief moment.
If you pause the episode at the right moment, you’ll notice that Kakashi gets his Sharingan back for a little moment, and it has some unmistakable Mangekyou patterning.
Of course, the doujutsu vanishes quickly, indicating that Kakashi does not actually have it back; the scene is merely a joke referencing Sharingan Kakashi’s glory days, and it should hopefully satisfy fans who have been asking for the ninja to reclaim his power after losing Obito’s eye during the last Great Ninja War.
Although many fans were disappointed when they realized this, since Kakashi is one of the best characters in the series and many were rooting for him to get his powers back, the subtle nod was still appreciated.
