Superheroes and other comic book characters typically deal a lot of damage when they battle. Of course, this isn’t deliberate in the case of the superheroes, but whether they like it or not, harm and casualties do happen. However, occasionally, heroes intentionally cause casualties because killing their opponents is necessary for victory.

Superheroes, like Batman or Superman, occasionally adopt a “no-kill” policy, but this is an exception rather than a rule. Whether they are monsters, extraterrestrial beings, or other types of adversaries, superheroes typically don’t hesitate to take down their enemies.

In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very important comic book character, or, more specifically, about the kill count of his version from the MCU. The character in question is Hulk, both Norton’s and Ruffalo’s version and you’ll finally see why Marvel did wrong by making the Hulk child-friendly, as his numbers don’t support that label.

The source for the data we have for you is a list from IMDb, composed by user Creedswede, who made an effort to chronicle the kill count of all major and minor MCU characters, with several important notes. Based on the data he has presented, Hulk’s kill count is as follows:

  • The Incredible Hulk – 25
  • The Avengers – 29
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron – 13
  • Thor: Ragnarok – 2
  • Avengers: Infinity War – 13
  • Avengers: Endgame – 6
  • Total kills: 88+

Additionally, he made appearances in Iron Man 3, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as Loki, WandaVision, and She-Hulk, but he had no kills in those projects, mostly because the appearances were either cameos or archive footage shots of him.

As for the numbers above, the first project – The Incredible Hulk – refers to Edward Norton’s version of the character (Norton appeared only in that movie), while the other numbers refer to Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, as Ruffalo replaced Norton in the role after the first movie.

This is not the highest kill count in the MCU but it is still formidable, as the Hulk has officially killed more than most supervillains in the franchise, and definitely more than most superheroes, which is certainly “impressive”.

The Hulk is sure to appear in future projects as well, so there is absolutely no doubt that the kill count will increase in the future, so we are going to update the list as soon as more information is available. But, even now, the numbers prove that the MCU’s decision to make the Hulk a child-friendly character was wrong, both in terms of character development and the facts as they are.

These numbers have been updated as of Deadpool & Wolverine, where the Hulk had a cameo appearance, so we can assume that they are accurate.
