Insider Claims We Have a Front-Runner for the Role of John Stewart in the ‘Lanterns’ Show
In case you missed the news, the DCU is presently looking for its Hal Jordan, chiefly for the Lanterns series, but possibly also for other projects down the road. The leading candidate for the part was Josh Brolin, while Ewan McGregor, Timothy Olyphant, and Chris Pine are also being considered according to rumors. We don’t know who will play Hal Jordan because Brolin recently declined the role, but it will probably be an older actor, as we have stated.
But enough about that – what about John Stewart? Based on the information we have, John Stewart is going to be the primary character in the series, yet no one is talking about this casting. But it seems that we’re done with that.
The franchise is looking for a younger actor to portray one of the most popular Green Lanterns of all time, and based on the rumors provided to us by a very reliable Hollywood insider, there is a front-runner for the role, an actor whom you might know from projects such as Elvis and Chevalier.
In a recent report, which also confirmed that Josh Brolin had declined to play Hal Jordan in the series, “Lanterns is described as having a gritty True Detective vibe as it focuses on Jordan reluctantly mentoring a younger Lantern, John Stewart, who in DC publishing history was one of the company’s first Black superheroes. The story sees the two characters investigating an Earth-bound murder with larger implications.”
As you can see, there is absolutely no doubt that John Stewart is going to be the focus of the series as a whole, yet there is a surprisingly low amount of interest in the character and who is going to be playing him in the series. There are probably multiple reasons for that, but whatever they are, it seems we’re done with that, as popular insider, DanielRPK, claims that there is a front-runner for the role, and its Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Kelvin Harrison Jr. is rumored to be one name being considered for John Stewart in 'LANTERNS'.

This is, of course, nothing official, but Harrison Jr. seems like a good pick; his role in Elvis was a memorable one, and if this one proves to be true, the series might be getting a proper star. Here is what the fans think:
He's a fantastic actor and would bring a lot to the character.
