‘Invincible’ Eyes a Long Run, Says Creator Robert Kirkman
As ‘Invincible‘ gears up for its third season with a recently released trailer at CCXP Brazil, the buzz around the superhero saga continues to grow.
The show, which brings to life the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, has won over audiences with its first two seasons.
It delves into the life of Mark Grayson and his complex relationship with his father Omni-Man, alongside his encounters with the likes of Angstrom Levy and other formidable foes.
With the third season on the horizon, the series shows no signs of slowing down. At a recent panel at the convention, featuring names like Tim Miller and Dave Wilson and led by Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Kirkman shared insights into the future of ‘Invincible.’
The creator discussed the series’ roadmap, revealing that while seasons four and five are already on the drawing board, the show’s continuation on Prime Video might extend even further thanks to its success.
Kirkman noted in an earlier interview with Polygon that ideally, ‘Invincible’ would need seven to eight seasons to fully tell Mark’s story from the comics.
However, as season three approaches, adjustments might be made to expand or condense certain arcs, potentially altering that estimate.
Kirkman humorously admitted that while the plan calls for about eight seasons, it could vary: ‘Could be seven, could be ten. I can be greedy.’
Fans can expect season three to take a darker turn as Mark dons his iconic blue and black suit and faces new challenges.
The conflict with the Viltrumites is set to escalate, and personal dilemmas will deepen, particularly around Mark’s relationships and his role alongside his younger brother Oliver.
Returning to the cast are Steven Yeun as Mark, alongside J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, and a host of others, including newcomers like Michael Dorn and Mahershala Ali.
As the premiere on February 6 draws near, with three episodes launching the season, anticipation is high among viewers who have followed the journey since the beginning.
Stay tuned as ‘Invincible’ promises more action, deeper character arcs, and the introduction of even more intense villains as it returns to Prime Video for another season.
