‘Ironheart’: ‘Hamilton’ star Anthony Ramos, Cast in Marvel Series

Starring Dominique Thorne as Marvel character Riri Williams, Ironheart has cast In The Heights star Anthony Ramos in an undisclosed role. Riri Williams is hailed as a genius inventor and the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Ramos’ role however doesn’t have much information but sources told Deadline that it is expected to be a big role not only in this series but also in future Marvel projects.

Williams was first introduced in the Marvel comics in 2016, a creation of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato. As in the comics, she is aged 15, in MIT and she reverses engineers Iron Man’s armor to create herself an armor. Iron Man did notice and encouraged her to pursue a superhero lifestyle.

The premiere date is yet to be announced but insiders have told Deadline that Williams is expected to make her debut in the MCU in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set for November.

Ramos has been on a roll since Hamilton. He was an original cast member of the musical. He was then cast by Bradley Cooper in his film A Star is Born (2018), a remake. Ramos is also the lead in Lin Manuel-Miranda’s musical In The Heights (2021). He is currently slated to star in the latest Transformers picture, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which is set for June 9, 2023.

Thorne’s previous acting credits include If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) and Judas and the Black Messiah (2021)

Chinaka Hodge was tapped recently as head writer on the series.

Marvel representatives have declined to comment.
