Is Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy 3? How Could She Be?

The trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is already out, and we know for a fact that this will be one of the most memorable rides we will ever get in the MCU because of the fact that it is said to be the final one for this iteration of the Guardians. Of course, we know that one of the original members of the Guardians is Gamora, who was killed by Thanos for the Soul Stone. But we also know that she appeared in the trailer. So, does that mean that Gamora will be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

It was clearly shown in the trailer that Gamora will indeed be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, this version of Gamora is actually the one from 2014 because the Gamora that was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy had already been killed by Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War.

While it might be true that we are never going to get the original Gamora back, what is also true is that Peter Quill and this version of Gamora have a chance to start something new. Of course, we don’t know what Gamora has been up to and where she has been. But what we do know is that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will answer those questions and will allow us to get to know this Gamora from a different timeline.

Is Gamora In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?

One of the original members of the Guardians of the Galaxy was Gamora, who met early in the events of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie as one of the daughters of Thanos working under Ronan the Accuser. However, she ended up turning over to the side of the good guys when she revealed that she wanted to keep the Power Stone away from Ronan and Thanos. This led her to become one of the founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, as she ended up working with Peter Quill and the others while going on many different adventures.

Of course, we know that Gamora ended up being in a romantic relationship with Peter Quill, as this relationship ended up becoming one of the major side stories in the entire Guardians of the Galaxy storyline. And it was clear that they were in love with one another in the events of Avengers: Infinity War because Quill was willing to do anything to get Gamora back from Thanos.

Ever since her introduction to the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Gamora has been an important part of the entire story. But the one thing that was made clear was that after the events of Avengers: Endgame, she was no longer with the team. In fact, during the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, she was visibly absent from the team, and Peter Quill seemed to be very sad about the fact that Gamora wasn’t around.

Meanwhile, the third part of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie is set to see its release soon. In that regard, we know for a fact that the Guardians are now going to be in what seems to be the final adventure for this iteration of the team. So, what about Gamora? Will she be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

The trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has just been released, and the one thing that’s obvious is the fact that Gamora will be in the movie. In that regard, after being absent from the team in two straight productions that involve the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora is set to return to a storyline that revolves around this band of misfits. But, of course, there are a lot of things that fans should understand about Gamora and her involvement in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

How Is Gamora Is Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?

In case you’ve forgotten, during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos took Gamora because he needed her to find the Soul Stone, which was one of the Infinity Stones that the Mad Titan coveted. The fact that it was only Gamora who knew where the Soul Stone was located was the reason why Thanos took her from the Guardians.

Of course, when they got to the location of the Soul Stone, Red Skull told Thanos that the only way for him to acquire the Soul Stone was for him to sacrifice someone he loved. Because he basically raised Gamora as a daughter that he really loved, he sacrificed her and obtained the Soul Stone in exchange for her life.

In that regard, the Gamora that joined the Guardians of the Galaxy in the first movie and the very same character that Peter Quill fell in love with was no more. Of course, Quill learned things the hard way when it was hinted during the fight involving the Guardians and the Avengers that Thanos sacrificed her. As such, Quill lashed out at the Mad Titan, which led to him acquiring the Time Stone and eventually snapping half of the universe out of existence.

Meanwhile, in Avengers: Endgame, Nebula went back to 2014 so that she can acquire the Power Stone that Quill and the other characters in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie fought for. However, because of Nebula’s connection with the Nebula that existed in 2014, the 2014 version of Thanos found out about the things that the Avengers were planning, and this led to him following them all the way back to 2023. Of course, the 2014 version of Gamora still existed in 2014 Thanos’s timeline, and that was the reason why she was there during the events of Endgame when she defected to the side of the Avengers and betrayed Thanos.

After Tony Stark sacrificed his life to erase Thanos and his army from existence, Gamora remained because she was no longer allied with the Mad Titan. However, instead of joining up with the Guardians, she decided to travel on her own and has been missing since then.

So, with that said, the Gamora that will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the 2014 version of the character. This 2014 version was the Gamora that existed right before she met Peter Quill and the other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and that means that she isn’t quite familiar with them. Of course, because of the fact that Nebula had already told her about them when they met during the events of Endgame, Gamora was already familiar with them and was aware that the original version of herself ended up in a relationship with Peter Quill.

Considering that this is the 2014 version of Gamora, it would be interesting to see how she would actually interact with the other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, considering that she isn’t too familiar with them. Of course, we always knew that Gamora was the only sensible member of the Guardians, and it’s going to be intriguing to see what kind of a Gamora is going to be working with this band of misfits in the final installation of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
